Overview

I am a piano player with 20 years experience, the last 10 years studying under Frank Zappa's Grammy-nominated pianist/keyboardist Tommy Mars. I have taught students of all ages in group classes and private lessons.

My classes are fun, student-driven, and stress free. Playing piano is a joy and I love to share that joy with students.

*** Lesson Details ***
I will teach you how to play any type of music you like. I believe that students retain knowledge and skills when they are working on music that interests them - so that's what I teach. You will learn theory, how to read and write music, improvise and more skills to play music you love.

*** Studio Equipment ***
The home lessons are taught in the living room. The home includes a full 88 weighted electric piano. Seating is available. Parking is available on the street, or I am 2 blocks from the Jefferson st L train

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide students with sheet music, I expect my student to have a piano or keyboard to practice on.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in Jazz, Classical, Rock, Funk, and Pop music.

In grade ten Luke taught me how to play this beautiful instrument the way I wanted to learn. The skills he presented were remarkable and something well worth aspiring to. But for me music has always been a pathway and piano was just a secondary channel in which Luke opened wide open, bestowing an option of keys and knowing the mechanisms that make them sound good. Props to the teacher! Never forget what I had learner, thanks man!
