Learn how to play with Soul! Personalized music lessons based around what you want to learn
I am in search of a few awesome humans who want to start or continue their study of music! I've been teaching for several years in the Denver area as well as online, covering everything from learning how to strum a guitar through advanced contemporary and jazz theory. Some subjects I've explored with my students include: Reading chord charts, Site reading; sheet music, Classical music, Jazz & Pop Standards, Improvisation, Groove & keeping time, Jamming with other musicians, Songwriting and composition, Music production software (GarageBand, Logic Pro) Everyone has a unique musical style, and the ways in which we learn music are just as diverse! I'm an expert at understanding what my students want to get out of music, and I can help you get to where you want to be musically by basing our lessons around the songs and ideas that you want to learn. Get in touch, let's see what kind of music we can get you making!
About Eli B.

I started my musical journey at the ripe age of three and a half when my mother brought me to a piano teacher out in rural Western Pennsylvania. I continued to take private lessons until my high school graduation, at which point I had also become proficient and began gigging on the guitar and bass. During my college years at Kent State University I took a few music courses but ultimately decided against a musical degree, opting instead for one in Environmental Science, a close cousin to the musical disciplines. All throughout college and in the six years following, I have devoted most of my free time to deepening my knowledge of the guitar, the piano and musical composition, honing my skills with mentors, peers and any other fellow musicians I come across (Denver has a lot of them). The rest of my free time goes toward outdoor adventures and concerts! Over the past 14 years I've filled many different musician and composer roles in many different bands with genres spanning across rock, jazz, funk, blues, jam/psychedelic, folk/country, and just about every genre in between. I've played music all across the country, both as a touring musician and as a passerby in my travels, Northeast, Southwest, Southeast, Northwest, and now right smack in the middle here in Denver. I've got a wealth of information to share about music and I hope you'll join me on the journey!

I took a recommendation from a friend to begin lessons with Eli. The amount of knowledge this man has is incredible - every time I enter a session with him I leave with more information and understanding about the piano than I thought I could know. The level and quality of music theory he provides has completely shifted my understanding of what I thought I could learn and has enhanced my connection with music as well. Not only is Eli extremely knowledgeable he is patient, kind, and explains things very easily. Every lesson I walk away with more confidence and understanding about how to use what I know to have fun with the piano. Additionally, his approach and love for music is inspiring, the way he speaks about connection with music and uses it as meditation has allowed me to play in a way that feels relaxing and creates a space for non-judgment. When I grow up I want to be like Eli. 😊

I have been doing piano with Eli for around 4 years. He is a great instructor and very enthusiastic about music. He is always able to answer any questions I have, explaining things thoroughly and willingly taking the time to help me understand. I have learned so much and he continues to teach me new things with every lesson!
