Hello, my name is Claire :) I am French and arrived in the US for the first time in August 2010 to study music. I am starting my second year of Doctorate in Music on a full scholarship at the University of Miami after earning a Master in Music Performance from California State University Fullerton on a full scholarship as well. I am also playing in a professional clarinet quartet called Four Play clarinet. My ultimate goal is to play clarinet and teach music at the University level.
I have the experience of teaching private clarinet lessons in France since 2006 and in America since 2010 and am seeking clarinet students of every level and age. I can help you prepare for high school band/university admission auditions or any other type of performances.
Also, as I am French, I was a French tutor at my University for 6 years and can help you learn French, get ready for exams and midterms or just do conversation if you are more advanced.

Claire was great with my daughter in her first lesson. She had not played in 9 months and Claire got her going again quickly.
Our 14 year-old daughter has been working with Claire for the past 5 months. Our goal was to bridge the gap btw middle school French 1 and high school French 2. Claire has exceed out expectations! She has a strong knowledge of how French is taught in school and learning from a native speaker enhances the experience. She has been incredibly flexible when we have needed to rearrange lessons. We highly recommend her!Show More
Claire has been the biggest help to me over the past several weeks. She is honest, encouraging and always willing to help. She has one of the best ears I've ever known and even over FaceTime can tell a wrong note or when something is out of tune. She has given me so many tips that made me a better clarinet player. She really, really knows how to play the clarinet and amazed me after every lesson. I left each lesson feeling inspired to do better and to keep improving. She's dedicated and cares that you get better. Learning with Claire has been really eye-opening and so helpful with not only what I needed for my audition but general tips and tricks to the clarinet. Playing the clarinet can be very challenging but with Claire, she makes sure that you can master something with her listening and then keeps enforcing your techniques and skills. I've really enjoyed working with her.Show More

Claire is an excellent instructor. she makes you feel at ease. she was punctual and very friendly. She has a French accent and is French born. I cannot insist enough how important it is to learn from a teacher who's native language is whatever that your are trying to learn. obviously with me having no background in French it is a learning curve but honestly I felt that after the first 45 mins I was enjoying mind it not because of anything else but the teacher's excellent, easy going manner and her enthusiasm for teaching. she is encouraging without being pushy but we also had material covered so no wasting time here. answered all of my questions and began with a great game plan. thank you Claire with God's grace and permission I hope you succeed in all that you do.Show More

Claire is aweseom! She makes sure you are learning at a pace and level that suits you the best, and more importantly, she doesn't just teach you how to play the instrument but instead how to interpret the music. She ensures that you start building good musical habits even as a beginner, and this has not only helped me with playing the instrument, but also gave me a new perspective of appreciating and enjoying music played by other people.
Overall an amazing teacher, 10/10 would buy again :D!
My lesson was great and I enjoy working with Claire.
