Clarinet with Cindy I.

I have been teaching private clarinet lessons for over 40 years. I teach my students, beginner to advanced, how to best control the instrument in order to express themselves through music. I know which pieces in the clarinet literature will teach phrasing and musicality to a young player. We play long tones in order to produce a beautiful sound and learn the two best ways to practice to play with good technique: playing accurately and fast. Hearing a student improve and find their way musically, emotionally and thoughtfully through a piece is very rewarding. Learning an instrument offers a unique way to instill discipline and show the rewards of hard work. I have loved music all my life, and the best part is sharing it with a young player and uncovering their talent and seeing them become enthusiastic about the music and the instrument.
