Regardless of where your musical interests lie, I can help you improve your skills! Growing up, I fell in love with playing and singing all styles of music! I've delved into classical, jazz, R&B, soul, gospel, reggae, soca, pop and musical theater, and I can teach you how to apply proper technique to the genre(s) of your choice!

If you're looking to become a better singer, we will focus on finding the beauty and power in your voice in a healthy manner. Vocal health is an important component of everything I teach, and I work to eliminate strain and vocal fatigue. We will work on balancing your vocal registers to give you control over the troublesome middle range. With a healthy foundation in place, we will fine tune your skills by addressing pitch accuracy, vocal control, phrasing, dynamics, expression and microphone technique.

If you're interested in playing piano, you will learn how to read music and/or play by ear. You'll learn scales, chords, arpeggios, sight-reading, and basic music theory. For singers who are interested in piano, I've developed a great technique to teach you how to accompany yourself.

For songwriters, I can help you write stronger lyrics and set them to music appropriately.

In general, I'm pretty upbeat and fun. However, I expect you to practice. When you practice, you hear and feel the difference and everyone's happy! If you don't practice, you'll remain in the same place, and it's frustrating for everyone. :( Please, please, please practice! :)

My degree in music education and wide range of experience allows me to accommodate different learning styles. I have a knack for breaking down seemingly difficult or mysterious concepts in a way that's easy to understand. I also understand the demands of being a full time musician, and can offer advice to students who are interested in going that route.

I would love to help you enhance your enjoyment of music by making it fun and easy for you to learn!

Cindy is no doubt the ONE when it comes to piano and voice lessons. I have had piano and vocal lessons with other previous instructors in the past, but often felt discouraged, misunderstood and frustrated. However, Cindy literally brought my passion for piano and singing back to life! She's extremely knowledgeable and passionate in her expertise, and she's FUN! I look forward to each and every lesson. I have been taking lessons with Cindy for almost a year now, it's the best decision I have made, and looking forward to many more. I've seen the improvement in both my piano and singing techniques, and learned so much. She is an inspiration to work with and committed to helping you achieve your goals as long as you put in the work and practice. Cindy is invested in your results and growth, once you start you can't stop.

She's pretty amazing. The perfect teacher in that she evaluates you and then makes a lesson plan based on this evaluation. She's the first vocal coach I've had do this. The woman is amazing.

Where do I start?.. First off, let my say that Cindy is my very first vocal coach..and the search stops with her. The teacher/student chemistry we had was great from the very first lesson. She is great at listening to your concerns and helping you come up with the appropriate solutions. Coming into my 1st lesson, my biggest challenge was with breathiness..and Cindy attacked that right away by teaching me the proper breathing and warm up techniques. I also learned the difference between head voice and chest voice and when it is necessary to use them. I highly recommend Cindy as a vocal coach and I'm looking forward to continuing my lessons with her in the future.

My son has been taking private classes with Miss Cindy for a few months, first voice and then piano lessons. He has taken piano lessons before at another school, but he wasn't enthusiastic about it, he didn't look forward to taking class and it was a struggle to get him to practice.

The biggest compliment I can give Miss Cindy is that when I ask my son how his class went, he says "fun"!! He practices everyday . . . without prompting. He's always eager to play for anyone who'll listen. He really enjoys the piano and he especially enjoys taking lessons with Miss Cindy. If you're trying to find you're child's passion, Cindy's Music School is a good place to start.

Me being a contemporary vocalist(pop/r&b) with previous instruction, Cindy has been a much needed breath of fresh air. I've trained with other instructors and she is by far one of my favorites. They say a great singer is a great listener and Cindy proves this theory by attentively listening to your concerns and providing you with practical solutions. Her warm, energetic and passionate personality helps you feel more comfortable with trying new techniques without feeling embarrassed.

I studied classical technique with previous instructors and I found that it wasn't very effective for my style. Cindy immediately noticed this and has began to re-work my technique with challenging exercises that I can feel and HEAR the results from during studio sessions and live performances...which is where it counts honestly, and that makes me very happy.

I love to constantly push myself to be better and I feel like Cindy understands exactly how to do that, which is why I feel confident in my decision of choosing her. I would definitely recommend her with glowing stars to any one in any style that is in search of an excellent teacher.

Six words describe Cindy. I WISH I DISCOVERED HER SOONER! She is exactly what I was looking for in a music theory teacher for my son. The chemistry between them is fantastic. She customizes the lesson to my son's needs. I have seen a major difference in a short period of time, with his sight reading, playing by ear, playing scales and chords. I would definitely recommend her and will be taking lessons as long as she is teaching.
