Teaching since:
January 2001

I am a professional cellist. I started teaching both private piano and cello lessons since 15 years ago, and I still have great passion toward teaching. When I teach music, I want students to learn to express their emotions through music. Essentially, I wish music education would help people to find that having music around is one of the most wonderful thing in the world.

I hold a DMA degree in cello performance from Michigan State University. I started playing piano at the age of 5. My minor is piano performance until finishing my undergraduate studies in Taiwan. I started teaching private music lessons since then. When I finished my undergraduate studies, I became a certificated teacher in music. Since I moved to the US to study, I have also been teaching private piano lessons in Boston. My students are aged from 3 to 65 years old.

Thank you for your time and attention to my profile. I hope to have a chance to share my love in music with you.

Chi-hui is such a great teacher! She's prompt to our lessons and she seems to instinctively know how much to push me each week. She is clearly a very talented musician.

I was a little apprehensive my first lesson, but Chi-Hui put me at ease with her calm, supportive manner. I actually feel as though I learned a lot in just one session. The time flew and laying first basics down seemed easy. Chi-Hui is so encouraging. I've only had one lesson, but I'm looking forward to more.

Chi-hui (Sandra) is a wonderful teacher. Our 6 year old son enjoys playing the piano with her. She is friendly, soft spoken and introduces lessons through fun familiar songs. She encourages him to go back and practice the lessons to reinforce before moving on. I would highly recommend her.

Sandra is a very reliable tutor. My son has been taking cello classes with her for few months and the results are great. His orchestra teacher told me he improved a lot and now he is capable to play quite advanced pieces for a beginner level. Sandra is always punctual and very patient and I would highly recommend her.
