Music should be fun, right? While the journey of playing music is not always easy, I find it's important to balance the discipline of learning to practice, with a hefty dose of good times. My motto is always to put camaraderie between humans first, and good music making second. And in my experience, when you're having fun playing music and connecting with others, you're also making better music.
I am a Brooklyn based drummer, composer, and educator.
I've studied with Jeff Brandt, Dr. Robert Ledbetter, Peter Retzlaff, Jordan Perlson, and Rich Brinkman.
Currently, I play regularly in the New York area with my own band, vocalist Shannon Soderlund, and the progressive metal band Rolling Heads.
Playing with funk band Kung Fu Kongress in Missoula, MT, I had the opportunity to share the stage with some amazing acts, including Galactic, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Dumpstaphunk, Orgone, The Wailers, and The New Mastersounds.
I hold a certificate in Jazz from the Drummers Collective in New York City and a Bachelors in Percussion Performance from the University of Montana in Missoula, MT.
