I have been teaching and performing professionally for 5 years. I have a specific teaching curriculum with an emphasis on simple technique fixes and practical beats and grooves that will grow your ability, confidence, and passion within two weeks of lessons! I believe playing the drums is a joyful experience and one that will be a positive change in your life. I teach all genres of music and specialize in teaching sticking technique, jazz improvisation, and rock, hip hop, and R&B grooves. I believe the role of the teacher is to INSPIRE not endoctrinate, so I focus on listening to the student's goals and providing tools for creativity and expression behind the drums!

About William

I am a professional drummer, producer and teacher. I studied jazz performance at Montgomery College and graduated from the University of Maryland. Drum students can expect to improve week to week in their drumming technique. Every student has a unique approach to drumming; I teach students to use

Great at making sure you understand the basics of music theory before proceeding to the instrument itself. Helping me become a more confident and smarter musician.

I've taken lessons before and have always become disappointed because there was never any structure to the lessons and theory was treated as secondary. I wanted to really delve into theory because that is the knowledge needed to have no limits. Finally, I found Jimmy. He is a true teacher. Jimmy makes sure he teaches you the theory behind what you are doing. I have been playing for over ten years and was not progressing. After just a few lessons with him, I am starting to truly see the fretboard. I am finally excited again!

Hello. My lessons are for beginning and intermediate students looking to improve their skills for school band (includes marching band) and acoustic drum-set. Students will need to have acoustic drums to allow for practice between sessions. We will work on your skill-set relative to your level of experience. Each lesson will build on the next. In the end, I want my students to be comfortable and confident when performing with bandmates in front of an audience. If you are comfortable and confident then you will have fun. It all works together. Parents are welcome to sit in and listen.

About David

I started drumming at age 12. First Junior High Band and Junior High Jazz Band. Then High School Band, Drum & Bugle Corp on the weekends, High School Marching Band, High School Jazz Band, Garage Bands, and rock bands that played gigs. Then College Band, College Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, and d

Gigging musician and TCCBDA All-State jazz drum set player, majoring in Jazz drum set at Richland College, I want to teach you the basics of drumming and I want to show you how fun it can be to learn the technique and proper fundamentals for this wonderful instrument by teaching you through the songs of your favorite artists, bands and songs! I will give you an extremely solid foundation for understanding rhythm, tempo, and overall feel for music. Learning through ones favorite songs is the most fun and motivating way to do so, and I can't wait to start working with you!

About Juan Jose

I know how daunting it can be to learn an instrument. Especially drums, since it can look so intimidating to see someone playing them at a high level. Pair that intimidation with a boring approach to subjects like technique, and you can often times get students losing their motivation because they

Patient, focused, encouraging and time efficient. He was good at keeping our youngster on task and making the experience fun. Wish he was able to take our child further with piano. I don't know how much was Tyler and how much was our child, but our kiddo learned quickly from Tyler. Thank you Tyler!

"One of the best teachers around!

I have known Steve for many years as a fellow drummer and educator. We come from the same background as far as schooling and theory's on how to teach students. I have subbed for him several times and have always been impressed with the knowledge and skill level of even students that have been with him for a short time. I would highly recommend him to anyone thinking about starting or advancing their skills!"

"Hunter loves his teacher, we are very happy with him. He is good at teaching the fundamentals of music theory, like notation and scales but also keeps it relevant and fun. He asks Hunter what type of music he's into so that it isn't a chore to practice- it is pretty cool that a 10 year old is playing The White Stripes!"

"I started studying with Dave at the young age of 15. Under his care, he instilled in me a passion for music and the drums that I don’t think I would’ve gotten anywhere else. Because of him, I entered into Berklee College of Music as a competent MUSICIAN, never mind drummer. If you’re serious about learning how to play drums, you want an instructor whose passion is infectious, who will inspire you to want to get better after every lesson. I can’t recommend anyone higher than I recommend Dave."
