Award-winning trombonist, Blake M., originates from Eastern Iowa. Currently living as a Boston resident, Blake is a heavily sought after trombonist in the area. He has performed at many festivals and contests including The Grammys, The Music For all Festival, The Monterey Jazz Festival, The Montreal Jazz Festival, and the Iowa City Jazz Festival. Blake received the top soloist award 3 years in a row at the Iowa Jazz Championships. Blake has performed as part of the Grammy Jazz Band, Jazz band of America, Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, Iowa All-state Jazz Band, Iowa All-state Band, and the Brubeck Jazz Colony. He currently attends the New England Conservatory on Scholarship studying trombone and classical composition. In the past he has studied with esteemed teachers such as Norman Bolter, Donny McCaslin, Jerry Bergonzi, Luis Bonilla, John Mcneil, Efstratios Minakakis, and Jonathan Allen.
