I have been teaching private guitar and drum lessons for the past 5 years. I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, and have loved every minute of it! After High School I went to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where I studied Contemporary Writing and Production, and was a Guitar Principal. I have been playing guitar all my life and have been playing drum set and concert percussion since 4th grade. For a while I was working at the Setai Recording Studio on Miami Beach and had a good time, but I found what my true calling was happened to be teaching. There is nothing I would rather be doing than teaching, so it makes each and every student I have very special to me. I will gladly teach all styles, but I happen to specialize in Rock and Blues. I am also a professional songwriter and am willing to teach specialized songwriting lessons as well. *** Lesson Details *** When taking lessons with me, students will find that I am fairly laid back, but I make sure the work gets done. I start by identifying exactly what it is that the student wants to get out of taking lessons, and tailor the curriculum to each students specific needs and goals. Many of the books I use are Berklee books, but I will supply any materials needed for lessons. For beginning students I am a little more strict about the curriculum, I still personalize the lessons, but also spent more time on the fundamentals of the instrument, so the student has a completely solid foundation to build serious playing upon. But above all else, I want the lessons to be fun for all involved while still getting the best work done. *** Studio Equipment *** I have two Marshall Amplifiers, 3 different Electric guitars, 1 Digitech pedalboard. MacBook Pro with ProTools 9, Logic 8, Reason 5, and Komplete 8. I have M-Audio studio Monitors. I have a Roland V-Drums Drum kit. I also have a Yamaha 100w PA system and two MIDI keyboards. *** Travel Equipment *** When I travel I provide no equipment, but I expect the student to have at least a guitar (if learning on an acoustic) or a guitar, instrument cable, and amplifier if they are learning on an electric guitar. *** Specialties *** I have studied and played almost all styles at Berklee College of Music, but my specialty is Rock/Metal Guitar and Rock/Metal Drums. I have played concert percussion since 4th grade, so I have a deep knowledge of that as well.
