The International Double Reed Society (IDRS) was established in December of 1971 and is a world-wide organization of double reed (oboe and bassoon family) players, instrument manufacturers and enthusiasts. The society has over 4,400 members from 56 countries. Within the United States, 50 states as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico are represented.

Welcome to the world of oboe playing! In addition to learning notes and rhythms, oboists have the pleasure of performing some of the world's most beautiful melodies. We will cover the basics of playing and the art of reed making. I strive to have students become self-sufficient musicians in all aspects of the field.

A graduate of Southern Methodist University, Ashley earned a Bachelors degree in oboe performance. She currently serves as second oboist in the Plano Symphony Orchestra and teaches out of her home studio in Dallas, TX.
