Results: Thinking on my feet to make materials that would be useful for my own success in my job. • Successfully scheduling and overseeing child and adult (parent) volunteers in school music functions. Results: Fostering open communication with parents that later helped if issues came up with their child’s progress in class. • Convincing kids that math is fun (a really big sales job!). Results: Helping children improve their grades in math. • Teaching to as many as sixty children in one classroom. Holding the students’ attention. Results: Utilizing effective time management skills to create lesson plans, presenting to a large audience of various personalities with differing needs, and ultimately demonstrating progress in learning through assignments grades and test scores. • Awareness of school rules and State laws to allow for all to have an equal opportunity to education. Results: Making a welcoming environment for children to learn and for parents to visit.

Founded by Roland L. Robinson, a harpmaker in Mt. Laguna, California, the International Society of Folk Harpers and Craftsmen (ISFHC) was intended to meet the needs of the individual folk harper and builder for communication with his or her fellow artists. It began in 1980 out of the readership of the Folk Harp Journal and in 1985 it became a California nonprofit corporation. Today, with a yearly membership of almost sixteen hundred, it provides a focus for folk harp activities worldwide.
