About Angela H.

(73)
Hi! My name is Angela, and I teach private piano, voice, and music theory. I've been teaching music for most of my life at this point, and have taught students of many ages (3 to 93) and ability levels. My favorite part of my job is watching long-term students grow and mature as musicians over the course of several years. I believe it's a teacher's highest honor to be able to one day tell a student that it's time to spread their wings and take flight on their own, and nothing delights me more than when my students come to me with pieces they've learned on their own, because they had the desire and the confidence to try something new without me. I am a dependable, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic teacher - I love what I do, and it shows. I'm also flexible - whether a student is interested in performing, recording, competing, or just making music in their own home, I always tailor the lesson around a student's unique goals. I consider myself more a guide than a taskmaster - creating structure to help the student thrive, yes, but also working with them to overcome obstacles. I find that's the best way to promote lasting change and improvement. I offer lessons for 30, 45, or 60-minute weekly sessions in my home studio or online. Hope to see you there!
