Viola with Amanda P.

Hi all! My name is Amanda. I am a recent University of Arizona graduate with a variety of experience as a musician. I have been in many orchestras including the Sachem High School East Symphony Orchestra (violist and student violinist teacher) (2010 - 2014), Sachem High School East select Chamber Orchestra (2011-2014), Sachem High School East Select String Ensemble (2011 - 2014), West Islip Symphony Orchestra (2012 - 2014), New York All-County Student Orchestra (2011- 2012), Sachem High School East Pit Orchestra (violist and concert master) (2008 - 2014), Pima County Community College Concert Orchestra (2015-2016). I was part of the National Music Honors Society for all four years in high school and performed at the New York All-State level with a total performance score of 96 out of 100. My teaching began in high school as a violin student teacher in the lower-tiered orchestras. I played and taught both violin and viola. By college I periodically tutored my sibling intermediate viola. I am experienced in both pop and classical music and teaching styles. I have also been piano a classically trained pianist for 17 years and have performed in many New York State Festivals as part of my training. I am extremely passionate about music, but also strongly believe in having fun while learning and practicing.
