Levels taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Students will learn the fundamentals of playing the piano--everything from correct posture, reading by note, music theory, and performance preparation! As students progress, they can choose to focus more on Jazz, Broadway and movie themes, or Praise and Worship music. For more serious musicians, check out my Classical Piano page.

Studio Policy - Missed Lessons
If you must miss a lesson, please make every effort to notify the instructor at least 24 hours in advance. A make-up lesson may or may not be scheduled at the teacher’s discretion.
~ Any lesson which is cancelled less than 24 hours in advance may be forfeited.
~ Lessons missed due to teacher cancellation will be rescheduled or credit given.
~ Make-up lessons cannot be rescheduled a second time, and if missed, you will be charged automatically for that lesson.
~ If a pattern of missed lessons develops, the student will be removed from the teacher’s weekly schedule.

Teacher's Studio vs. In-home lessons:
Students must have an acoustic piano--not a digital keyboard--for in-home lessons. Otherwise, lessons will be provided at the instructor's home studio. Just so you know, on lessons taught in your home, there is an additional charge for travel.

About Allan W.

I am an experienced music educator with over twenty-five years of teaching experience. I have two Master's degrees: one in Music and one in Education. I work with students ages 7 to 70 from beginners through late intermediate levels. Once things return to normal, students will participate in recitals (usually twice a year) to showcase their newly acquired skills.
Online Classroom: With recent concerns over the Coronavirus, many of my lessons are done "online" until things begin to settle down. Hopefully, you will find music lessons to be a constructive activity and a positive outlet while staying at home. In addition, my prices have been temporarily reduced to give families an added financial break during this difficult time. Looking forward to working with you online.

Mr Walker is outstanding! He is teaching both my kids trumpet and piano lessons for past 2 months. He is patient, kind as well as firm/gentle at the same time. My kids really like him and lessons are going very well. Thank you Mr. Walker!. We really appreciate you!.

Allan taught piano to my two children for over four years. He was always very kind and patient with each of them, teaching them the fundamentals first and then building on those skills with progressively more difficult pieces. The twice yearly recitals taught my children memorization skills and presentation poise. I would highly recommend Allan as a piano teacher!
