Alixandra Glatt is a longtime yogi and native New Yorker. She first started her practice at the age of four, taking meditation and yoga classes with Alan Finger. This summer marks her 25th year of having a personal practice. It is her longtime passion for yoga that motivated her to start teaching, so she can share the joy and benefits that yoga has brought to her life. In 2010, Alixandra received her 200-hour yoga teacher training certification through YogaWorks, which was co-taught by Paula Lynch Liberis and her longtime mentor and teacher, Sarah Bell. Her teaching style is best described as a Hatha practice that leans towards the Iyengar technique. After many years of being a part of the yoga community, she has come to realize that yoga is truly an individual practice. Everybody can do yoga and because our bodies and needs are different, it is important to have a practice that best supports those individual needs. Therefore, she believes that it is important to lead a practice that focuses on alignment (supported by the use of props to best make adjustments), self-awareness, self-care, the breath, and is goal oriented whether the student is looking to develop strength, flexibility, and/or mindfulness while supporting an overall healthy wellbeing. Alixandra loves to learn about her students so she can create practices that cater to their individual needs. Also, having had several non-yoga related injuries, she understands the fears and concerns that can develop around working with a current or past injury. This has made her very supportive towards students who need a practice that accommodates those sensitive areas so that they can practice with ease. It is her belief that it is important to create a non-judgmental environment for her students so they can feel safe and comfortable during their practice. Finding the right teacher is a personal decision, so if Alixandra seems like the right teacher for you, she would be happy to hear from you.

Ali gave me some of the best yoga classes I have ever had! She's knowledgable, patient, and very insightful. She tailored the class based on my goals and health issues. I have a bad knee and bad wrists so this was really important for me. I cannot recommend her enough!

Had my first ever in-home yoga lesson with Ali and I loved it! We first discussed the areas I wanted to improve upon (tightness in the hips, stiff neck), and then Ali created a custom flow to address those needs. I learned a lot about proper form and technique from Ali, lessons that are often overlooked in group classes but are a major benefit gained from one on one sessions. She was a knowledgable and patient instructor with thoughtful answers to my many questions about the poses. Would highly recommend a class with Ali :)

I will definitely continue taking yoga lessons from Ali. She definitely took my needs into consideration when it came to creating a lesson for me and was great at making adjustments that I felt really helped improve my practice.
