My name is Ali You, I am a second-year graduate student, and my major is violin performance. In May 2017, I will graduate from Boston University and get my master of music degree.
I’ve begun to study in BU with Professor Bayla Keyes since 2015, in these two years, I’ve learned a lot from her, not only my violin skill, but also a lot of teaching methods.
I got my bachelor degree in Renmin University of China, which is one of the best university in China. I had 24 students before I came to States, several of them won the first prize in different violin competition.
I’m very patient, I have a beautiful smile, of course, and the most important thing is I can teach well. Most of my student can learn very fast and be very happy at the same time. I hope my student to love music instead of just playing the music
Students ages: 5-13.
During these two years I use Suzuki methods, at the same time I'm buiding my own teaching theory.
Teaching my students to play the violin in a professional way, everyone had a lot of fun during the class.Several students won the prize in Golden Beijing violin competition.
Ali is personable, patient, and an excellent teacher to my daughter.
Ali is lovely and seems to have developed a good relationship with my young son.
Ali is very good at getting young students' attention. My son became Ali's student two months ago. He liked her and was able to follow her lecture. Ali is also very kind and funny. We love her.
I found Ali through Thumbtack where I searched a violin teacher for my 4yrs old daughter. After two lessons, I made a decision to learn together with my daughter. Ali is very friendly and nice and professional. I share the one hour lesson with my daughter with no extra fee charged. Time flexible too! I have been learned for two months, improved very fast after her guide. Recommended!+ Read More
My daughter and Ali already created a good chemistry on their first lesson (which most of the time took awhile to instill). I couldn't wish for more.
Ali is a very talented violin player. When I first started lessons with her, I was a beginner. The violin sounded squeaky and miserable. I couldn't understand what I was doing wrong. Ali simply modified my hand angle, raised my elbow slightly, and made me stand up straighter. She said 'Try now', and the sound was beautiful - a huge difference! We both couldn't stop laughing. She really does know what she is doing and can teach really well. Not to mention, she is a really nice person. She also is flexible and will go along with my schedule. Thanks for everything Ali!+ Read More
