Very fun guy, with an extraordinary amount of knowledge, talent, and overall passion for music. I’m really looking forward to my future lessons.
I am really lucky to have found Al. I am just learning my instrument as an adult and have tried three different teachers (as well as self-managed lessons) before Al. Why I am enjoying my lessons with Al so much is because he brings energy to the session, he encourages questions, he's ready (even excited) to dig deeper into the why of what I'm learning. He challenges you to get the basics and get them right, but he's also willing to indulge in a student's curiosity and let me take the lesson where I want to do as well. All this means I am developing a lot faster than I did when I tried to learn on my own. I'd highly recommend giving Al a try.Show More
My son enjoyed the first lesson! He is very excited about future lessons and can't wait to mature musically. Al is very easy to talk to and understands what motivates kids.
A very enthusiastic teacher!
We are so happy we found Al. My son really enjoys his lessons (bass, beginner), he is totally engaged & learning. Al is knowledgeable & easy to work with, very highly recommend!
Al is knowledgeable, flexible
WE LOVE OUR DRUM INSTRUCTOR! My son was an extremely high energy very distracted five year old when we started lessons with Mr. Al. Let's just say that my son is not an easy student, but our son had already developed an obsessive attachment to music, most intensely to drums. We expected someone would be able to teach him drums, but we also got someone who is patient, flexible, understanding, and always respectful and kind to our son. We see Mr. Al in his home studio, and at now at seven years old, Joey's skill has definitely progressed. In fact, his learning has a momentum that our entire family can see. But Mr. Al has given Joey so much more than just that. Joey's love of music has flourished beyond measure. Joey now tells Mr. Al that he loves him after every lesson, WOW! We have been so pleased that my seventeen year old daughter now also takes lessons with Mr. Al too. Mr. Al is the perfect instructor for us. My kids think he's cool, and we think he's just fantastic all the way around!Show More
One of the Best
I have studied with several instructors, and I found Al to be the best. He not only knows his craft and takes pride in it, but he has a unique way of connecting with his students.
He listens, observes, and then starts to create a curriculum that is specific to the student. He can then convey this material in a manner that is fun, easily understood, and constructive.
I would highly recommend Al as an instructor.
MY daughter loves playing!!
I tried to teach my daughter, Rose, how to play the guitar and I couldn't get her to follow through with her lessons. Al has made the guitar fun for her. She'll play AT LEAST an hour a day now, learning songs given to her and playing warm-ups like scales.
Al also teaches music theory so Rose understands music more. Any teacher that gets a student that excited is doing something right.
Our son has been working with Al for nearly a year and we are very pleased with the growth we have seen in our sonâs drumming ability!
Al seeks my sonâs input when selecting songs to teach him and encourages my son to apply his knowledge to learn new songs on his own. They go over what he taught himself and then he gives him new beats to incorporate to what he knows. My son truly enjoys learning from a skilled professional like Al. He is an awesome instructor!!!
Al is an awesome teacher.
When I was looking for a drumming teacher for my son, I looked at several of the teachers' profiles. I thought that Al's profile was the best fit for my son who had no experience in drumming, and my son has learned so much from Al. Al is a wonderful teacher and very patient. He adjusts to the likes and needs of his students. I like that Al is a professional musician/performer and brings that experience to the table too.
Al is the best teacher
My son started learning the guitar with NO experience at the age of 9. He is now playing the songs he always wanted to learn, is always excited to go to his weekly lesson, and above all has the upmost respect for AL as do I as Anthony's mom. I couldn't think of anyone I would rather my son learn from. Al's extensive knowledge of musical instruments is nothing short of remarkable! I would recommend AL to anyone looking for a teacher in the musical arts.
I was a complete beginer and couldn't read a single note. Al showed great patience form day one when i came in with a broken string. Never once in all of my lessons did he hesitate to repeat, redemonstrate, or write it out. He is your choice if this is what you need in an instructor.
Al P. is an excellent instructor.
Glad we found him. He is excellent with our eleven year old son. If your child wants to learn to play the drums Al is the man!!!!
Outside the box
When I made the call to Take Lessons, I was veryhesitant due to the fact that we have had some interesting experiences (via Craigslist) with a few teachers prior to Al. I was looking for someone to come in and help "develop/coach" my teenage boys band. From the initial phone conversation with Al, I was pretty confident that I made the right move. Al not only brings a fresh perspective to music, he lives it. He has helped bring honesty and insight to my boys in regards to basically everything in relation to the world of music. Al teaches them to think, "outside the box." I have seen definite changes in almost every aspect of their attitude and approach to music and creativity. As a parent, I am thrilled my kids are working with Al. They are able to take his constructive criticism or advice to heart because he has done pretty much everything in the music business. Hats off to, Take Lessons. You have a real gem for a teacher and he deserves to be recognized for it! Thank you, Al for going above and beyond for the younger generation in their quest to play and create great music.AngelaParent
Hello there, Gianna is enjoying her lessons with Al, Thx!! Thought she would once she actually started appreciate how well you work with her, she has said nothing but positive things.
Skye is enjoying her lessons so far. She is excited about learning the new homework that she has.
Great Guitar Teacher!!!
Al is a fantastic teacher. My nephew of 10 loved the lessons. He had so much fun! Al knows how to make the lessons both fun and very clear and structured. As an adult, I was most impressed by how he can correct the student in a very encouraging manner. He has really mastered the art of teaching to a young person.
Fantastic introduction to guitar and drum lessons
Amelia is young, so she lacks the patience for a solid 30 minute lesson. Al is patient and works well with her. He has done a fantastic job teaching basic information, skills, theory and application. We are so happy to have found someone so willing to work with our four year old and so willing to break the lesson up with guitar, drums and percussion. It helps with our daughter's focus.
