While I was a public school music teacher, I used Orff-Shulwerk strategies for teaching music. This approach to music teaching and learning is appropriate for preschool through middle school grades. These strategies are based on the way children learn: sing, chant, clap, dance and keep a beat on anything near at hand.
I have been a professional musician for over 40 years and have taught beginning piano and oboe privately and in group classes. As of March 2021, I am fully vaccinated and have allowed students to come back into my studio who are vaccinated. Upon entering my studio you will be required to remove sho

I studied Opera and Classical music for a time and have performed everything from Americana to Gypsy and New Orleans Jazz so I know how to work with my voice to use it in various capacities with great control. I am also a singer/songwriter/ performer of contemporary folk originals. I am excited to find your unique voice and style and work together to really make it your own.

My goal in teaching math is always comprehension not grades. After laying a good foundation, it is amazing to see the improvement and success my students have had!
