Embroidery is my favorite subject to teach. It offers the student endless creative possibilities. There are amazing machines that enable you to stretch your imagination beyond just sewing to decorating and personalized branding. You will learn how to hoop and set your machine for the best embroidery experience.
I have taught skills on various embroidery machine brands including: Brother PE800; SE series, INNOV-IS series; single & multi-needle commercial machines, Husqvarna Viking, Janome, Babylock, Singer and so many more.

I teach hand embroidery, hand sewing and machine sewing to students of all ages. Beginning students can learn hand sewing stitches that are used in conjunction with machine sewing to finish items.
Embroidery is like painting with a needle and floss. Students can learn basic embroidery stitches to use on pre-printed kits or to create their own drawings.

This is not a machine embroidery class. Get ready to move beyond the basic cross stitch (by hand). Let me coach you on specialty stitches such as satin, queen, eyelets, Rhodes, French knots and more. Let me repeat, this will not be a machine embroidery class, every stitch will be made by hand!
I've been cross stitching since 1983 and teaching it for over 10 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll learn how to organize your material for easier sewing, master basic stitches, and as time goes on you'll be able to tackle complicated stitches and designs. I specialize in counted cross stitch, but also have experience with redwork, drawnwork, Bargello, pulled thread, hardanger, and canvaswork. Typically, I use The Cross Stitcher's Bible by Jane Greenoff but can recommend other helpful resources. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!
