Hand Embroidery is a great way to get started in hand stitching. We can start with basic stitches and work up to more difficult skills. I can help beginners start an easy embroidery sampler and can also challenge experienced embroiderers with advanced stitches.

About Lisa

I am a lifelong sewist with experience in Quilting, Embroidery, Mending and many other textile techniques. I have been teaching sewing classes to adults and children for over 20 years at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

Lisa has been such an awesome quilting teacher! I came in as a complete beginner and she has very patiently helped me gain more and more quilting skills and knowledge. She makes the lesson fun, interesting and I always leave excited to quilt. I would recommend her to anyone looking to quilt and sew-- adults and kids.
Katie
Lisa is a great teacher! I began the embroidery lessons with zero experience and after three lessons I feel like I have the basics down well enough to do several projects. Highly recommend.

Embroidery is my favorite subject to teach. It offers the student endless creative possibilities. There are amazing machines that enable you to stretch your imagination beyond just sewing to decorating and personalized branding. You will learn how to hoop and set your machine for the best embroidery experience.

Lily is an incredible teacher! I went from barely knowing how to thread a bobbin to completing my first lined jacket in a little over 4 months! Lily is patient, kind, and has great attention to detail and teaching style. Lily will introduce you to everything from basics to complex techniques with ease.

Lilly is a excellent teacher. She takes her time showing you the stitches and how to thread your machine. She encourages you to keep trying because you will learn something that you can use for a lifetimes. And most importantly once you make your first garment you will want to continue to make more of your outfits.

This is not a machine embroidery class. Get ready to move beyond the basic cross stitch (by hand). Let me coach you on specialty stitches such as satin, queen, eyelets, Rhodes, French knots and more. Let me repeat, this will not be a machine embroidery class, every stitch will be by hand.
I've been cross stitching since 1983 and teaching it for over 10 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll learn how to organize your material for easier sewing, master basic stitches, and as time goes on you'll be able to tackle complicated stitches and designs. I specialize in counted cross stitch, but also have experience with redwork, drawnwork, Bargello, pulled thread, hardanger, and canvaswork. Typically, I use The Cross Stitcher's Bible by Jane Greenoff but can recommend other helpful resources. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

I advise a high school sewing club as well as volunteer with Days for Girls and church prayer shawl ministry. Please note, during the summers my schedule is more flexible when school is not in sessi

This is perhaps my favorite subject to teach. There are such a variety of things you can do with the most basic of stitches, which students can then build upon depending on their interests. My goal for my students to walk away with a confidence in creating their own designs, with techniques tailored to their specific aesthetic goals.

*No machine embroidery.

About Rhiannon

My name is Rhiannon and I am a third generation crafter. Originally I went to school for art history, all the while crafting. Eventually I had enough of studying other people's work and instead wanted to make my own and empower others to do the same. I consider myself to be the "Swiss Army Knif

I'm enjoying my classes. I've been bringing Rhiannon stitches I want to learn without any notice, and she is always able to help me on the spot to learn them. Her flexibility (both in what I want to learn and in scheduling) makes private classes a pleasant and worthwhile investment. Highly recommend!

I teach embroidery, hand sewing and machine sewing to students of all ages. Beginning students can learn hand sewing stitches that are used in conjunction with machine sewing to finish items.

Embroidery is like painting with a needle and floss. Students can learn basic embroidery stitches to use on pre-printed kits or to create their own drawings.

I teach beginning, intermediate and advanced sewing. I have been sewing since before I can remember, for over 40 years. I teach sewing after school for several local private schools and privately at home for 10 years. I also teach for the City at the Cultural Arts Center. I have been fingerprint

"Like many, I found a new craft during the Covid Shut Down: machine embroidery. I’m a seamstress, but embroidery presented a new learning curve that required expert assistance... & then I found Lily!!! Personable, patient, and so very knowledgeable! I look forward to my weekly classes and learning a new skill - stitching “like a BOSS” - because of my new teacher Thank you Lily!"

"Lily is wonderful. She is patient, knowledgable, professional, and knows how to use technology better than most people I know. She is always giving me tips to use that any manual doesn't mention. She has a way of making everyone feel comfortable around her - like my husband. Virtual learning does work well if the right person is running the show and giving the lessons. Lily is that person for me!"
