My students can expect a lesson that's full of fun, engaging and accompanied by a high level of passion and energy.
I'm result oriented and very dedicated to my students and provide students with a lot of constructive feedback during the lessons.
Lessons will mainly focus on students strength and weaknesses, through many different means. The lessons are supplemented by several materials: work book problems, live game play, analysis of student's own games, online resources, classic game review and much more. My custom lesson plans are based on the student's own background and experience. I am always committed to making each lesson fun and exciting!

Fantastic teacher, very professional and engaging. Cheers!

My 6 year old son loves chess and when I told him several weeks ago I would get him chess lessons for Christmas, he was extremely excited. He talked about it every day for weeks. I emailed Sam to confirm the lesson and ask him if we needed to prepare. Sam asked us to make sure we had zoom, which I replied that we did. I asked him what link to use to log on for the lesson and he never replied. The day of the lesson, my son was checking the time every hour, waiting for it to start. 40 minutes in advance, he set up his chess board at the dining room table and sat waiting. For over an hour I tried every way I could to figure out how to log on to the lesson. Called customer service twice and no answer. Called Sam multiple times, and his phone went straight to voicemail. Emailed; texted; everything to no avail. The lesson time came and went. My son is still in tears. I have paid for three lessons, and it appears this service is a scam or something. If this is in fact a serious business, I hope I can expect a refund.

...So had my 3rd zoom lesson online, was awesome!

"I've taken informal lessons with Dipankar for the last 2 years or so. He does a great job at explaining the game of chess. He is very patient. I have been able to learn a few different openings and have seen great improvement in my games. It is apparent Dipankar loves the game of chess and has an avid interest in improving his own abilities. You won't find a better fit!"

"My son USCF rating 1400+ took a trial lesson with Danial. Danial is methodical and systematic in his coaching. He was quick to identify what my son needs to improve in order to get to the next level. The most important thing is that my son enjoyed his one-hour lesson and literally felt that the lesson time flew by as it felt like only 2 minutes long to him. My son gives Danial thumbs up and 5 stars."

Chess Openings & How To Start Your Game Strong

As a game, chess is traditionally divided into three phases: the opening, the middlegame, and the endgame. While all three are important, today I’m going to help you start out strong in the opening. When I first learned how to play chess, I played openings that really did not help me improve and left me with an awkward start to the game more often than not. Eventually, I adopted some of the openings that I will show you in this post and my rating skyrocketed. Opening Principles The first …

6 Tips For Improving Your Chess Game

Back around 2014, I decided I was going to improve at chess. I watched a few videos online about some openings, played a few dozen blitz games online, and then promptly lost interest within a week. Four years later, I decided to pick it up again and in less than a year, I had gone from 1100 to 1900 Elo rating online. Obviously, I changed how I went about my improvement! So here are the steps that I took the second time around that got me to where I am now, and some ways you can improve your ches …

5 Chess Moves to Up Your Endgame

The end of the game has come. You have successfully out-maneuvered and outfought your opponent, conquering large swaths of the chessboard, and approaching that triumphal moment when you will topple the opponent’s king and declare that he has fallen---in other words, a checkmate (recall that “checkmate” is an anglicization of “shah mat”, Persian for “the king is dead”)… Only to realize that you don’t quite know how to finish the game, which inevitably results in a slapsti …
