I have been teaching chess for six years and my students have gone on to tournament level and won competitions. Within the first few lessons, my students have developed a deeper understanding of chess strategies As they progressed further in their lessons they have developed special moves to win the chess games. I have started playing chess at the age of 6, and fell in love with the game. I started competing in Nationally Ranked Tournaments at the age of 7 and I kept feeling the drive to compete. I competed in about 150 tournaments since, ranging from small local tournaments to national events. My journey to obtaining the national master title was long and difficult. I got stuck at almost every rating range imaginable. However, in Summer 2019, I finally achieved the National Master title with a National Rating of 2214.

I am still actively playing chess and improving! My current USCF peak rating is 2241 and my current FIDE peak rating is 2119.

Throughout my playing career, I have always loved tutoring chess. The beginnings of my teaching career started with starting a chess club in a non-profit organization in Southern California. I built a curriculum to teach students to play from scratch. I have since taught group classes and private lessons, to students whose skill levels range from not ...

Great experience. I learned a large amount in just 90 minutes. She was very patient with me and took the time to address portions of the game that I was both interested in learning and were important that I was not aware of. Well worth every dollar spent.

Amazing instructor. My advice, if you want to learn, learn from the best. My understanding of chess is so much better after my lessons from Atousa. She is awesome. Answer all my questions, taught me how to practice and what to practice. How to understand seemingly simple concepts that separate low rated players from high rated players.

Hiro is expert, fun and patient with our 8 year old. Our son is a newer player - beginner/intermediate (he learned basics at his school in second grade but a lot further to go)- and really gets excited and engaged with the game when Hiro plays and teaches him.

"Mr.Siddharth is a great instructor. My son wanted to join chess, but I wasn't sure how much online classes can help. After few classes, I could see my son started showing more interest in chess and he was proud of his progress as well. He is looking forward for the class. Thats a very good sign for me. I would highly recommend Mr.Siddharth."

"Atousa has worked with my young son for some time now. I have seen a vast improvement in his chess skills. Equally as important, he has developed a strong ambition to learn and improve. It warms my heart to hear him ask if I want to play a game of chess instead of him asking if he can play video games. Cannot recommend Atousa enough. She is wonderful."

6 Tips For Improving Your Chess Game

Back around 2014, I decided I was going to improve at chess. I watched a few videos online about some openings, played a few dozen blitz games online, and then promptly lost interest within a week. Four years later, I decided to pick it up again and in less than a year, I had gone from 1100 to 1900 Elo rating online. Obviously, I changed how I went about my improvement! So here are the steps that I took the second time around that got me to where I am now, and some ways you can improve your ches …

Chess Rules: a Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners

I will admit to you, the reader, that most of the articles I have written thus far assume that the reader is already a fairly avid chess player, who is aware of the basic rules of chess and thus is interested in learning more advanced strategies, traps, and tricks with the goal of decisively defeating the opponent. But, of course, not everybody is born knowing the rules of chess---there are, in fact, many out there who are unfamiliar with the game, and need an introduction. Especially now …

Chess Openings & How To Start Your Game Strong

As a game, chess is traditionally divided into three phases: the opening, the middlegame, and the endgame. While all three are important, today I’m going to help you start out strong in the opening. When I first learned how to play chess, I played openings that really did not help me improve and left me with an awkward start to the game more often than not. Eventually, I adopted some of the openings that I will show you in this post and my rating skyrocketed. Opening Principles The first …
