Bruce learned the game of chess in the late 60's, becoming a "Fischer Kid" during the 70's. In high school, he easily captured the team championships and represented his school until graduating in 1976.
He taught some of his fellow students to play and improve in their games during this time and enjoyed sharing his joy of the game with others. Although life has sent him in many directions career-wise, he has never strayed far from chess.
In addition to chess, Bruce has played semi-pro football and is also now a dance instructor. His understanding of working with body and mind to create the best you makes him a unique choice in mentoring young students about chess and life in general. His enthusiasm for life and the activities he teaches are contagious and he hopes that each of his students enjoy the time with him enough to "pass

As soon as you get to understand chess well, you'll begin to see it's beauty and depth. Each game is an adventure. I love chess, and that is my perspective of the old and romantic game of kings and queens. I also enjoy teaching it that way, as it makes the game fun to learn and play.
Chess can be confusing and difficult sometimes, but really all you need is someone who loves chess to help you love it, and see it for its beauty. We'll play a few games together, so I see where what level you're at, then take you from there. From a beginners level, up to advanced, showing you the ins and outs of this exciting game. I'll show you games from the great players, teach you some history, give you puzzles, and watch you grow until one day, you might even beat me in a game! It'll be fun!
"Sid is an excellent chess coach. My two daughters benefitted from his style and experience in chess. Verrrry gentle with kids and that helps create an env
ironment where kids develop a love for the game. Sid is also easy to work with for parents."
"My first lesson with Josh was great. He is an amazing player and was very patient with me as I have not been playing chess for that long. He is very good
teacher! I look forward to my next lesson!"
"A lot to absorb for a first lesson."
"The learning experience was great and very informative. The only minor problem that occurred was that the video kept freezing every three seconds, making
it difficult to understand what the instructor was saying. However, this may only be a website problem; my experience with Siddharth was enjoyable and educational."
"Atousa is EXCELLENT! She is incredibly kind, patient, encouraging, and really knows her stuff! I've had one lesson with her and seriously look forward t
o my others with her in a big way. If one wants to learn chess - I'd highly recommend Atousa. She's really good!!"
"Eric has been super with my nephew Enzo. He is very knowledgeable, and is really good to work with younger learners. He is also willing to sit with the
rest of the family during the lesson so they can benefit from his knowledge as well!!"
"I enjoyed taking lessons with Mr.Siddharth. He was a really cool instructor I could talk to and easily forget about time. It's always good to be so engage
d with what you are learning that you put all your focus into the subject, and he easily allowed that. I even went over time in my first lesson, we were both so engaged!
I highly recommend Mr.Siddharth as an instructor. I am a relatively advanced player, but I can see how his wisdom can transfer over to beginners and intermediates. I will consider even more lessons in the future. One small caveat was his small bouts of absent-mindedness (moving the wrong piece, forgetting what as the last move), but that never caused so much confusion I didn't know what was going on.
Overall, he doesn't disappoint. Book a lesson with him, and you'll learn something."
"Josh is awesome. He taught me how to do castling.
-- Paul (age 6)"
"Eric was wonderful. He had lots of patience, which I appreciated. And he was very polite and respectful."
