I have been crocheting for some time now, and have done many different types of projects. I also sell scarves/hats online. I can help you with the basics of crochet to get you started on your crocheting adventures.

About Brianna
Hi, I'm Bri! I'm a graduate of North Central College with a BA in Music (Emphasis in Composition and Percussion) and a minor in History. I absolutely love music, every single aspect of it. I love to make music a part of everybody's lives who want and need it. I want to help you with your musical needs. I have been playing percussion for 19 years, singing for 25, and playing piano for 20 years. I was a member of a recording and performing Chicago band, Oblio and Arrow, where I provided backing vocals and helped with the song arrangements. I am currently a member of Trip City Lights, an LA local funk/soul band, where I provide lead and backing vocals. I also record vocals for different artists hooks, jingles, choruses, and songs (covers and originals). I have also composed/arranged various pieces for ensembles, bands, vocal groups, choirs,
plays, musicals, commercials, etc. I've worked with folks locally in LA, and all over the world. I love what I do!

History has always fascinated me. The way our world has developed and changed and continues to evolve is amazing. Everything can be tied back to the past, and I feel it's important to take a look back, put yourself in that time, and really study how things were to help understand why things are the way they are now.

Crocheting and knitting are a couple of good habits/hobbies I picked up about 10 years ago. I sell scarves online and I'm always working on some sort of project. I will have you knitting and pearling with the best of them!

Music, history, crochet, and knitting....I'm your girl!

What would you like to learn? Basic stitching or specific techniques? Learn how to use Ravelry. Get help with a current project. Are you left-handed? Bonus! I teach righty or lefty as needed.

Make a list of “Things I Want to Work On” and we can put together a great lesson plan and schedule. Here are some skills and techniques to think about to get your list started. Ask me about anything else, if you don’t see it here:

Stitches and Techniques –
• Basic or advanced stitches
• Increases and decreases
• How to read charts
• Hyperbolic crochet
• Crochet in the round
• Tunisian crochet (Afghan stitch)
• Bead crochet to embellish projects or make jewelry

Math Made Easy -
• Reading the Yarn Ball Band for yarn weights and hook sizes
• Gauge and substituting yarn
• Tackle your niggly math questions

About Ellen
Whether you want to begin knitting or crocheting, or already love to, there’s always something new to learn. I love all aspects of knitting and crochet - color, texture, and creation. And I love sharing all this with my students. I personally enjoy the math of it, and can help make it easy if math is not your “thing”.

Would you like to learn basic skills, hone current ones , or enhance your experience with new techniques? If you're in the middle of a project and need help, or have specifice technique(s) you'd like to work on, consider booking a 15 minute class, or a series of them.

Choose from these subjects, or tell me what you’d like to work on:

• Reading the Yarn Ball Band - Why the information on it is helpful and important
• How to use Ravelry - A knitting community full of useful information
• Fiber Math…Yes you can
- How to understand gauge and yarn weights/quantities.
• How to Read and Translate Charts
• Help with a Current Project – Understanding a pattern, technique, or correcting a mistake
• Knitting Lace and Openwork Basics – How to do increases and decreases
• Bead Crochet – Crochet necklaces and bracelets, or embellish knitting or crochet projects with beads.
• Hyperbolic Crochet – For those that love math or want to learn how to crochet curves from a flat surface (think of coral, or the edge of a curly lettuce leaf like kale)
• Your wish list of knitting or crochet skills…

I have been teaching since 2012 and am available to teach lessons online and in NYC. I learned teaching skills from some of the most loved and respected teachers in well-known stores, teaching venues, and events. I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals, and have fun while we work together. As an added bonus, I teach both right and left handed as needed. Do you need a time, place, or topic not listed here? Just ask. We can probably work something out.

Enrich your fiber crafting experience. What would you like to learn? Contact me and let’s get started.

I have over 15 years of experience with different techniques, stitches, and yarn types. Am happy to work with young children, and will provide tools/materials to practice with. Will cover the basics and begin with easy beginner stitches and work up to more difficult stitches and patterns.

About Kris
Hi there! I am a craft lover and enjoy creating. It is what makes me happy! Watching people’s faces light up when they receive a gift I spend time and effort on is what drives me. I enjoy the process, and enjoy teaching others so they can create quality items as well.

I have been crocheting since I was 8 years old, taught by my Nana. I began with a blanket and was hooked-literally! From there I began making hats, ear warmers, baby outfits, face scrubbies, hair bows you name it there is a pattern out there for it. I have taught children to crochet and believe it helps calm the mind. With 2 young children of my own, I am patient and enjoy passing along knowledge to the next generation of crafters!

I have been sewing for a few years now. I enjoy the gentle hum of the machine, and find the focus it requires relaxing. There are just so man
y cool things you can create with a sewing machine!

I love crocheting! It is easier than you think and it is a fun activity you can do almost anywhere. I have the extra bonus of being left handed so I understand some of the frustrations for you lefties out there. I am also a public school teacher so I love to teach as well. I think this is a great opportunity to combine my two loves.

About Arletta
I love teaching and meeting new people. But be warned I like to have fun while I am teaching. In fact I was voted most sarcastic teacher by my students last year. That must be a good thing because I almost always have a waiting list to get into my classes. Don't worry about the sarcasm being aimed at you; it is mostly at my self or a commentary on some issue that defies logic or good sense. Even though I like to have fun, I also love seeing someone understand something they didn't before I taught them. I feel my greatest accomplishment in my history classes is when my students begin thinking for themselves using the analytical and critical thinking tools they have developed in my class.
