SCHEDULE NOTE: This is a very busy time of year for me. My availability is quite limited, so please check with me prior to scheduling. I have set the automatic calendar very tightly so please ask if there's a specific date and time not listed that you're interested in booking. END OF NOTE
Hello from Seattle! I love teaching! For more than 40 years and I have been a professional photographer. I was the Team Photographer for the Washington Stealth pro indoor lacrosse team for three years, and teach photography at the Pacific Science Center, the Bellevue Club, The Leica Store, Glazer's Camera, Omega Photo and other locations. I have shot professionally since I was 15. My photos have been published in several magazines and I have three photos published in the New York Times. I was the mission photographer for the first private spaceflight
- Space Ship One, and the first ocean plastic cleanup system. I have experience shooting dozens of cameras from nearly every manufacturer. I often write camera, software and lens reviews for online sites. I am also a former employee of Apple in their advertising department.
I love teaching:
~ Photography 101, Basic Photography How To's ~ Learning How to Really Use Your Camera (Nikon, Canon, Sony, Leica, Panasonic, Olympus and more) ~ How to pick and use the right lenses for the task ~ Photos for your Online Store: Table Top Photography ~ Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop ~ Photo Processing, Editing, Storage ~ Basic Portrait Lighting ~ Travel Photography including making travel books ~ Black & White Photos from your Color Photos ~ Sports Photography ~ Printing Fine Art Photos ~ Color Management ~ Mac computer setup and optimization for photography
and other topics that may be of interest to you. I especially love doing a portfolio review with you where I give you honest critique and suggestions on how to improve your existing photos and think about elevating your new photos.
I like to start with new students by talking on the phone or emailing before our first lesson to get a good sense of your experience and your goals in getting more instruction in photography. I do not charge for this initial conversation once you have registered and scheduled your first lesson package.
Three of my students have gone from amateur to professional and are selling their work.
I am married (28 years!) and I have two boys - one in high school and one graduating college. I have several students in their early teens - I love teaching them because they're so motivated and unafraid of the technology.
We can do lessons together online using Zoom - we can see each other, hear each other, share screens and I can show you step by step how to do everything we cover! Zoom conferencing is free, there's nothing to buy, so it's included in my lesson prices. My students love our online sessions - we go at your pace and answer all the questions you have. My students range in age from 11 to 80.
I am most proud of this comment from one of my students: "There is a difference between teaching and mentoring. While the terms seem similar they are distinct in their approach to the recipient. Brad is innately both with the lessons I participated in. He is a teacher and a mentor.
He taught me but he also "brought me along". On one hand, he gave me excellent raw knowledge and technique but still, on the opposite side of the coin, gave constant reality-based feedback and pushed me without hurting my enthusiasm. He told me about his successes and shortcomings "once upon a time ago" and I didn't see him as infallible as many instructors want you to, I saw him as having lived a path, scouted it, and coming back to help show me the way. He didn't just tell me where I was going wrong, he showed me, then showed me how to correct it, then guided me through the process of correcting it, then followed up. Who could ask for more than that?
Brad is the total package when it comes to instruction. I am a better photographer for having studied with him. I am also making my dreams come true as a businessman. I owe most of that to him. I look forward to my next lessons, but honestly I more so look forward to what is behind the doors he will inevitably open up for me."
Hello! Bonjour! I believe the best way to teach is to make it simple and fun! I am patient and dedicated to your success. -------- QUALITY FIRST -------- Everybody wants the best. I believe quality is the most important. I also believe each person is unique, therefore each student should have tailored lessons. -------- HAPPY TEACHING -------- Teaching should be a positive and fun experience. I believe in a personalized and genuine approach. In my experience the benefits are enormous: we save a lot of time, energy, and since it is way more suited to the student, we are more efficient = happy! Hopefully Wisdom will come out of this process. All we need is a little support to all grow together.
-------- PHOTOGRAPHY -------- Photography has been my full-time job since 2003. I am a 34-year-old French-American man living and working
in Minneapolis Minnesota. I have +16 years of expertise as a professional photographer. Recent clients include Porsche Minneapolis, Taste of the NFL, Medal of Honor Convention Twin Cities, and Women's Leadership Trust Forum. I will be your teacher today.
-------- WHY THE MOVE TO THE USA? -------- I am a husband and step-father who moved to Minnesota in 2015 to live with the wife Sophia and 2 kids: Blake and Samara, 16 and 14. They all are musicians or artists.
-------- MY FRENCH HERITAGE -------- From 1995 to 2002 I primarily I studied French literature, English literature, and German, and even Russian for 3 years when I was in high school in France.
I was born in France so the language is my mother's tongue. My parents are Monique and Alain, typical French names. I have an older brother (Frédéric) and a younger sister (Johanna) who lives in Québec, Canada now. I do not practice German and Russian at the moment but I am a specialist of French language. If you want to test my French here I am!
-------- LE TEST FRANÇAIS: BIEN, OU QUOI ? -------- Comme on dit en français: "quand on me cherche on me trouve !"
-------- MY PASSION FOR SOCIAL WORK -------- In 2015, before I moved to the USA, I was the President of nonprofit organization Association Sunyoga France, French branch of the main NPO from India called UNIVERSAL PEACE CENTRE, for scientific and spiritual research, agriculture, clothing, taking care of orphans and elderly people, with a health center and an education center.
Our 7 humanitarian programs focus on creating a Self-Dependent and Sustainable Global Family Home University. As we speak, we have people from +14 countries working together towards that goal.
I know the organization well since I have been working with them since 2012 in France, India, Serbia, and now in the USA! I am now working on creating the American branch of the association. It is called Universal Peace Centre • SUNYOGA AMERICA.
-------- GLORIOUS CONCLUSION ABOUT TEACHING -------- Teaching is a big responsibility. Parents and teachers, it is our duty to teach the best. Let's do our best together. Thank you for your trust and friendship.
Wishing us all best success, peaceful, blissful, healthy, and enlightened life. Merci! Gratitude.

He's the best! Lessons are tailored by questions asked. He is knowledgeable and flexible. I highly recommend him.
I am a classically trained artist and illustrator. I enjoy teaching people who are passionate about art regardless of skill level. I have exhibited widely in Mexico and the United States and also illustrated for magazines and books. You can see some of my work here : https://www.instagram.com/alfie_ripstein/ And http://www.echeverriaripstein.com/
My resume includes graduating from the Baltimore School for the Arts and continued studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art until I decided I didn’t want to be a “Starving Artist”. So, I graduated from the University of Baltimore with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resources Management. My education also includes 27 graduate credits that were leading to a Master’s in Public Administration when I decided to discontinue that path. After twenty-five years in the public sector, I decided to revisit my passion for art in my spare time. As a youngster, I remember wanting to teach art in schools, but I did not want the restrictions that are present in the classrooms and more so today. All forms of art is a freeing practice that is practiced and developed over time. Art is very therapeutic.
I've taught and currently consult with former and current Baltimore School for the Arts visual arts students. For more information, website at jfa-studios.com.
Hi! My name is Alex, and I have a degree in Italian modern literature from the University of Turin. Apart from being a native Italian speaker, I am also fluent in English. I currently live in Portland, Oregon and I enjoy music, photography, hiking and food!

My name is Roya. I am a professional artist and educator, and I’m a professor in painting and drawing. It would be my pleasure to teach you painting or drawing. Over the last 10 years, I have taught painting and drawing, including figure drawing and painting courses in universities and colleges.
I’m using 2 different teaching strategy based on my students interest.
In the first plan, I start to teach from basic to advanced technique; my goal at the beginning stage is to provide students with enough skills and technique that they can skillfully begin making art from 3- dimensional sources, not just copying from other arts.
In the second path, I start teaching any subject or technique that my student prefer like pastel landscape or oil painting portrait.
I teach a variety of technique, medium and styles from realistic to abstract
Roya is a wonderfully energetic, hands on art teacher, who has moved my oil painting from mundane to lively & exciting. My lessons with Roya are such a pleasure. The lessons are geared toward helping me grow in areas I expressed a need for, as well as filling in weaknesses which her expertise recognizes need working on.

Great teacher!! She knows what she's talking about and teaches at your own pace.
Hello! I moved to Brooklyn fifteen years ago to get my MFA at Pratt Institute; I've been a professional fine artist for my entire adult life and have shown my work extensively in and around New York. I have taught traditional oil painting at local ateliers and I also teach plein air workshops in the Hudson Valley through the Artist’s Workshop Association. In 2018 I was invited by the US Department of State to teach a series of oil painting workshops at an art college in Algiers, Algeria, because one of my paintings hangs in the Ambassador's Residence there. It was an amazing experience! I love talking about painting and drawing and demonstrating what I've learned. For more info, pics, and demonstrations, you can check out my IG (@eileen_murphy_studio) or my website (eileenmurphy.net).
For both drawing and painting, I lead my students thr
ough a series of exercises that teach the fundamentals of observation and execution. My own work is very realistic, so I have the technical skills to demonstrate to students how to reach the goals they want, whether or not they want the results to be exactly true to life. A lot of my students end up making more expressionist work which is great! And some others are interested in making very traditional paintings.
Additional note: I provide materials for beginning painters so that you don’t have to invest in paint and brushes until you know for sure that you want to continue with it. I think that makes it easier for people to get started.
I also teach small group lessons (2-3 people) so message me for that pricing if you have a few pals you want to bring with you!
Super nice and helpful ! So interesting and so much fun ! I’m looking forward to the next lesson , and ultimately learning to paint in oils with Eileen’s guidance !

Eileen has been great to work with online, therecreally are no painting teachers in my area who have the technical knowledge to help me out so I was really stuck. We only started recently but I’m learning so much faster now.
June 25, 2019
I’ve been working with Eileen online for awhile now and it’s been really great. I’ve learned so much from her techniques and her tips about my palette and brushes. I’ve learned a lot just by watching but her comments to me have really helped my painting progress much faster.
"Jessica Maffia is not only a profoundly gifted and skilled professionally trained artist, but she is also a highly intuitive instructor. Jessica will hap
pily meet you exactly where you are in your craft and inspire you to really improve, learn and grow in your drawing. Jessica's decade plus experience as an artist and teacher makes her a perfect instructor for those wanting to take their drawing practice more seriously and begin to master all the elements of this fine art. I have not had a more talented and inspiring instructor; Jessica evinces so much creative passion and artistic integrity that it becomes contagious. I am much better for having worked with her."
"Rosemary is a dedicated artist and teacher. She worked with my daughter to create her high school visual arts portfolio. Rosemary demonstrated not only a
clear knowledge of what high schools were looking for in a portfolio but she knew my daughter as an artist. This helped to guide us in the high school selection process. With her guidance, my daughter is attending AND thriving at the high school of her dreams!"
"Very patient instructor with a great eye! I am learning so much."
"Sergey taught me about everything I had questions about and also offered suggestions in helping me to better determine the best way to find the career pat
h that is right for me. Rather than hard and fast lessons, it was an opportunity to spend time, one on one, with a professional and learn from his experiences what works and what doesn't."
"Great first lesson!"
"What a pleasure it was having Sheldon come in and teach our youth! We planned a night of creativity for our youth at our church and Sheldon kindly volunte
ered and provided materials for our teens to have an awesome experience. He gave expert advise and technique but also embraced everyone creative side. Hope to have another night with Sheldon as our teacher. Super fun night!!"
"Sandy was amazing! It usually takes my Rocky a while to warm up to new people but he took to Sandy immediately. Rocky was asking when he can have her ba
ck as soon as she left."
"Very pleasant , very intuitive , and very encouraging. He cares and tries hard to accommodate and customize his teaching."
