I have been playing and studying Drum Set for ten years and am a self taught Conga player for more than a year now.

I am well versed in many different styles of music including but not limited to Jazz, Funk, Rock, Afro-Cuban, and some Brazilian music.

I love teaching students new to the Drums and am very confident in my ability to articulate and convey the necessary technical and learning skills which will make students self-sufficient in their own musical ability and studies.

For students who have already become comfortable behind a Drum Set, I offer my own experience in Jazz and Latin Music studies. I can set students who wish to explore or begin their journey into Jazz music on the right path.

About John

Hello! My name is J.J. and I'm very excited to be your Drum teacher! I am 27 years old and have been playing and studying the Drum Set since my junior year of high school in 2011. I have worked in and around Dutchess County, NY since 2016 as a Jazz sideman and as a member of a couple local Fun

I love my drum lessons with J.J.! He not only ensures that I'm practicing the concepts correctly but also that I'm playing in a way that's healthy and sustainable for the long term. You can tell that he's truly passionate about playing drums and it left me wanting to immediately go practice what we had learned after the lesson. An all-around amazing instructor and genuinely friendly and personable guy. Would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn drums!

I took 5 lessons with Ed, very great instructor. I learned a lot in those few lessons. He helped with with my pitch and with my accent that I had to prepare for an audition. With his help I was accepted into my high school’s A cappella group “Madrigals” and overall I would recommend. We made it work and tried to make the best out of the situation. Great experience:)

My kids thoroughly enjoyed lessons with Ed (both guitar and piano). Lessons started with my 7yo and when his brother turned 4yo, he started as well.

For blues guitar the first thing I do when I meet a student is to interview the student and find out why they want to learn how to play the guitar and what are some of their goals. Then I find out what style of music they would like to learn. I have the student come up with ten songs they would like to learn. I take this information and structure future guitar lessons around the essential elements of these songs. I design each lesson to teach the specific skills required to learn those songs. I create an organized binder guitar workbook and having a teaching degree I create all of the lessons to meet each students individual needs that include lessons on theory, technique, chords, rhythm, scales, arpeggios, songs, song form, and exercises etc. I use a color coded method to teach scales, chords and theory that I created that help students not only understand scales but also they are able to see visually where chords come from. I break down each song into easy digestible parts so ...

I only have high accolades for David. I've learned more from David in the mere 5 lessons then I learned in a years worth of lessons in the past. His method of teaching is perfect with the right amount of homework. He customizes the lesson for the type of music I ultimately want to play with a good balance of theory and practical lessons to get me there. Bravo!!!

Lessons with David were very inspiring and so much fun. They were well planned, organized and productive. David also was very flexible and accommodating with scheduling the lessons.

I have been teaching cello to students of all ages for over six years. I aim to tailor my teaching plans to each student’s unique goals and learning habits. With me students listen and practice their way to being complete musicians. They improvise from the start, quickly gaining confidence that music is their domain and that they can be creative in music, more than expert readers and interpreters. They practice because they want to improve something they've heard in their playing; to help them hear, I guide them in recording and reviewing their own playing.

This creative and self-directed approach, combined with a strong foundation I give in classical technique, can open infinite doors. My students have composed their own music, learned jazz, and explored Irish flute music and the Cuban charanga. Other students have explored Country, Rock, and even Dubstep (not my thing, but I like keeping an open mind).

I encourage lots of exploration and listening, both curated and free, which I then encourage students to share. My studio explores the length and breadth of the world's music, both ancient and modern, for inspiration -- far beyond ...

About David

I've worked hard to be a flutist, and I continue to work hard every day to grow my technique, my hearing, and my musical imagination: what we call "chops" and "big ears"! My great hope is that I can help my students succeed at something they are passionate about within the musical domain. Personal

David helped my daughter leap from barely any knowledge or sound to sounding like she’d been training for years- in only a few sessions!
Our family was amazed at the immediate progress! David is patient and able to adjust concepts to the child’s level for easy absorption and application. I can say from first hand experience that school music lessons may be fine, but there is no comparison to the one-on-one attention of an expert flutist! Thank you David!

"I decided to take painting lessons from Morgan because while I have experience in drawing, I was a complete beginner when it comes to painting. Now after just a couple months of biweekly lessons, I feel like I have a good grasp on the fundamentals of oil painting. I've already painted several pieces that I really like. Morgan has been very supportive and knowledgeable the whole way through. I'm very glad I decided to take lessons from her."
