About Deron

I am a San Diego native and have shown my paintings extensively throughout San Diego. It wasn't until several years after I graduated from UCLA in 1994 with a Bachelors in Fine Arts, that I really tried to show my work in galleries. Most recently, my work has been in shows at Project X Gallery, Th

Deron is wonderful with my 7 year old granddaughter. Her parents are in the process of divorcing and she is having a hard time with it emotionally. Deron is patient and kind and allows her to direct the lesson with his guidance. She loves drawing and she really looks forward to her her lesson time with Deron.

Deron is an absolute joy to work with. My dude ran off immediately after the lesson to draw some more. Now that's a positive review. :)
Nancy
It was great! Deron had me pick out a subject and send him the image ahead of time. He had it printed out and ready to go when I got there, along with the paint colors, brushes and everything. Very impressed with his organization. He went at just the right speed for me and we actually made good progress. I'm looking forward to the next lesson!

Hello fellow students!

My name is Anabel, I am a professional photographer in Los Angeles, California. I photograph a variety of subjects, from pets to Grammy-nominated musicians, and everything in-between! I am well versed in studio photography and on-location outdoor work, and can help you learn to make the most of any location and subject matter.

Being self-taught, I believe that I have an entirely different approach to education; one that sits well with aspiring photographers, especially those that are disappointed in traditional (as in, college and university) photographic education. My teaching philosophy revolves around educating on the minimum and maximum capabilities of your gear and giving students all of the fundamental tools to create whatever image they have in their head (hence my lack of a photographic ‘niche’ in my work. When your camera becomes an extension of your arm, your subject pool is limitless).

In 2015, I had officially made my photography classes ...

Although my focus as a TakeLessons teacher is primarily in music, I also teach a killer Calligraphy class. I do not take the fact that I am 'multi-talented' lightly. I know good calligraphy and I know mediocre calligraphy. Before getting more involved with music, I taught Calligraphy at a junior college for 7 years. I taught over 750 students and took classes from a student of Donald Jackson, one of the Scribes of the Queen of England. I can strengthen the work and techniques of intermediate or advanced calligraphers (and illuminators) and am very adept at teaching beginners. We can meet in my music studio or your home. I have a list of preferred materials and love this amazing communication form.

Marty helped me to prepare to sing at my wedding and although that didn't ultimately happen because I was so busy with all the wedding details I did not have time to practice, the experience was magficent and I've taken what I learn with her an facilated into many avenues of my life including speaking, as she taught me how to better project and be more confident in doing so.
She takes a very personal approach with her students to help them truly recognize there goals.

Marty is a wonderful teacher and very easy to understand. I tried many online packages and other teachers and I could not keep up with their instruction. Marty is clear and has figured out ways to make It possible for me to play much faster than I ever thought I could. I will be returning from a trip east and will continue my lessons when I return. I am very happy that I found Marty.

"There are many people out there that can teach you to snap a picture, but Sandra will help you learn the process of how to create a photograph. That is her strength, along with a gentle touch and her vast experience of working with some of the best photographers in the business. I strongly recommend you reach out to her if you wish to become a better photographer.

I had the great opportunity to work with Sandra. As my photo coach and editor, her insightful suggestions to the way I was approaching my work helped me sharpen my photographic skills and storytelling. Working with Sandra was all about honing my strengths as a photographer but also opening my eyes to other possibilities of storytelling and the craft of photography that helped me overcome my inexperience when creating a photograph."
