This is perhaps my favorite subject to teach. There are such a variety of things you can do with the most basic of stitches, which students can then build upon depending on their interests. My goal for my students to walk away with a confidence in creating their own designs, with techniques tailored to their specific aesthetic goals.
*No machine embroidery.
My name is Rhiannon and I am a third generation crafter. Originally I went to school for art history, all the while crafting. Eventually I had enough of studying other people's work and instead wanted to make my own and empower others to do the same.
I consider myself to be the "Swiss Army Knife" of crafters. I have delved into nearly every craft and love passing this knowledge onto my students. For these reasons I have a diverse range of crafts I can teach, including: knitting, crochet, embroidery, hairpin lace, needle felting, and shuttle tatting. In addition to my passion for a variety
of crafts, I also love teaching a variety of skill levels, from students beginning their first stitch to someone who wants to redesign a pattern.
With a positive attitude and a willingness to learn I can teach you any of a variety of crafts.
Rhiannon was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Looking forward to the next lessons!

I'm enjoying my classes. I've been bringing Rhiannon stitches I want to learn without any notice, and she is always able to help me on the spot to learn them. Her flexibility (both in what I want to learn and in scheduling) makes private classes a pleasant and worthwhile investment. Highly recommend!
Embroidery is my favorite subject to teach. It offers the student endless creative possibilities. There are amazing machines that enable you to stretch your imagination beyond just sewing to decorating and personalized branding. You will learn how to hoop and set your machine for the best embroidery experience.
I am a fashion designer/instructor and former social worker. I am very patient with students and passionate about sewing. I get excited watching students build skills gradually from basic through advanced level techniques. Also, I am one of the few teachers in the country who teaches the exclusive "Freehand" sewing, which is sewing without ready-made (commercial) pattern, like our grandparents did. As a social worker, I taught participants in a homeless shelter, how to make various items geared towards independent living. For 9years now, I've been teaching at a fabric store in East Ha
rlem where patrons sign up for group sewing lessons as well as private lessons. I teach garment construction, alterations, home decor, and various sewing projects.
I enjoyed the session very much. The teacher was thorough and organize. The lesson was presented clearly and was easy to understand. I learned a lot in just 2 hours; looking forward to the next class

We couldn't have imagined a more excellent instructor for our daughter. Lily has such a kind and pleasant demeanor. She is intelligent, patient, and is literally the best teacher that I have seen work with my daughter.
I give Lily my highest recommendation and always look forward to her coming and teaching my daughter. The relationship that they have formed is invaluable, beyond sewing. We are so appreciative and grateful to her.

Lily is very kind and knowledgeable. She was able to give constructive advice on projects I was having trouble with. Going to continue with her.
My approach to teaching embroidery is to develop the skills you may want or need to express your own creativity. There are such a variety of things you can do with the most basic of stitches, which students can then build upon depending on their interests. My main hobbies are teaching languages and all things related to sewing.
I love learning and teaching languages and although I studied law I really prefer teaching languages (I speak 5 languages) and sewing (another of my favourite hobbies) love travelling and photography.
I will be happy to answer the questions which arise in between your one-on-one lessons. In short, I will do everything I can to increase your rate of language acquisition.
It goes without saying that I love to teach! I have an easy-going personality and a positive attitude. Learning such a beautiful and multifaceted language as Spanish or Romanian will be fun with me. I love travelling,
I have hosted many exchange students, so I have developed good communication and creativity skills.
I will encourage your interest and curiosity into the different cultures by using amusing topics during the session, which will automatically improve your experience.
I am able to communicate with students at a very personal level . I am very passionate and enthusiastic to get them to learn. I will also promote study habits.
I have a lot of nice material and is interested in what people have to say and their needs. I am friendly and kind; I try to correct students making sure they don't feel embarrassed. I makes people feel comfortable, and encourages them to participate and learn, -even the shy ones. I enjoy the class as much as you.
I’m already learning a lot. She has me do a lot of talking which is very good practice.

Alexandra was professional and kind. She very patiently helped me through some technical problems with the camera on my laptop. She immediately recognized the problems I was having on my crocheting project and got me on the right track. She’s friendly and put me at ease right away. A very pleasant and informative session.
I am a third-generation embroiderer and have been teaching classes, small groups and individuals for 6+ years. Do you have an embroidery project in mind? Within 2 sessions you will know all the stitches necessary to make your vision a reality. Ages 10 and up are the most successful in a few sessions, but I can modify for younger! Embroidery is not only a fun, affordable and accessible way to make beautiful things and flex your crafting muscle--it is also calming and meditative. I strive to meet my students where they are and create an encouraging, fun environment that is student guided so that you are embroidering projects YOU want to make and learning necessary skills in the meantime. I want to share my love and enthusiasm for embroidery and whether in a small group class setting or individualized instruction, I promise you will come away with an appreciation for embroidery and likely a new obsession!
By day I am a museum education professional and have worked in non-profit arts education for a decade. In my spare time I enjoy all things crafty, but embroidery is my true crafting love. I am a third generation embroiderer and sharing my enthusiasm with others is my great joy. I have an embroidery business called Lucky Little Sew and Sew that is mostly commissions for wedding, baby gifts and children's artwork. I am a lover of all things dainty and vintage and live in an embroidery filled apartment with my soon-to-be-husband and cat. Whether you just want to learn how to make a specific embr
oidered piece, or you are looking to make this a full-blown hobby, I'm here for you. I love working with adults who are looking for a new hobby, or to refresh their knowledge from when they were younger. I have taught embroidery from ages 10-94, and I am able to individualize instruction to make every student feel successful. If you are looking for lessons, but want to share the cost, I'd be happy to lead small group instruction for 2-3 friends. I am also available to lead a fun bridal shower, birthday party, or girlscout sewing badge activity.

"Rhiannon is super nice, knowledgeable, and patient. It's hard to say much from the first lesson but I look forward to more!"
"So much fun! I'm excited for my next lesson. Rhiannon is a great teacher."
"I loved my class with Rhiannon. I was a little unsure about how an embroidery class would truly work online. However, my class was clear, enjoyable and I
particularly liked how Rhiannon showed me how each stitch I learned today, can be used to create specific effects. She used her own embroidery projects to illustrate this for me. I can't wait for my next class!"
"Omg such a pleasure to work with. Great personality and very patient. Love her teaching. Will def. Request her again."
