I believe in preparing students to be well-rounded musicians, able to navigate any musical situation. I do this by incorporating often neglected elements of music into my teaching, including improvisation, music theory, music composition, music technology, and recording. I incorporate music from a wide variety of styles and time periods, with a focus on students' individual interests and personal goals. Above all, I aim to teach music in a way that is fun for the student and encourages them to explore, create, and discover music in new and exciting ways!

About Logan

Hello! My name is Logan Cain and I am a pianist, composer, percussionist and recording engineer. I have been writing and performing for over fifteen years, and I have been teaching lessons for the last eight years. Ms. Charlene has been my piano teacher for ten years. She is very patient and dedicated. I was shy but gained confidence as I expanded my piano repertoire. I participated yearly in the CM piano evaluations organized by the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC) and was selected almost every year to perform at the Branch Honors Recitals. Since completing the Advanced level CM and moving to college, I have stopped taking piano lessons from Ms. Charlene. However, I still play the piano whenever I have the time. I highly recommend Ms. Charlene as a piano teacher.

Charlene is a wonderful teacher, extremely patient and experienced. I absolutely love her way of teaching my 5 year old.

I took piano lessons with Ms.Charlene for 13 years. I started my lessons with her at a very young age when I was in kindergarten. My piano journey with Ms.Charlene is an experience I will treasure forever. She is very kind, nurturing, patient and professional. She taught me musical skills that enabled me to perform confidently at recitals and complete my Advanced level CM piano evaluation. I am proud that I can pick up any piece of music and play with ease. I also volunteer to perform regularly in a hospital for patients. It brings me joy to share music with others and its all thanks to my teacher Ms.Charlene.

"Chris is a phenomenal piano instructor! He is extremely talented and can play different kinds of music- such an inspiration. He is very patient as my daughter and myself are beginners. He immediately picked up on what kind of music my daughter is into and has her play pieces that interests her and makes her happy (which also means she will practice more) I highly recommend Chris!"
