In my studio, I believe that my role is to steer students toward a deeper understanding of themselves, their instrument, and their relationship to music. I tailor my teaching to the needs of my individual students, who currently range from age 7 to adult, often adding improvisation and extended techniques to increase my students€™ awareness of the potential of the flute as a channel for one€™s creativity.

About Roberta

Flutist, Roberta M., is equally at home playing classical and new music. I Care If You Listen has extolled her “lush, full tones… even among the best professionals, not many flute players sound so compelling in a lower register.” Praising her “extreme adventurousness,” New York Concert Review said

Roberta was patient and was obviously an experienced teacher. I teach and I understand what it takes to put a lesson together so that the student gets the most out of it, while pushing the student to do better, but not too much to discourage them from moving forward. She hits that sweet spot! I would recommend her to anyone who was serious about learning.

Hello, my name's Olivia! I'm excited to work with flutists of all levels to achieve their goals, find their voices, and have fun with music. Lessons with me are always individually tailored to each student's needs and objectives, combined with enough structure to excel in their studies.

Our lessons will include detailed help with: breathing, sound quality, note reading, music theory, ear training, improvisation, practice routines, that most elusive "musicality", and more! We'll use a variety of exercises, etudes, and duets to build a solid foundation and help you become the best musician you can be.

As a classical musician, I've been playing for 17 years, studying both American and French styles of orchestral woodwind performance, but I originally got my start playing hymns in church. As a professional freelancer in Milwaukee, WI, I regularly play commercial pop, rock, Americana, jazz, and showtunes both for local productions and on the road.

"Kristin has been one of the best instructors that I've ever had. I started flute lessons with her with a lot of bad habits picked up from an instructor at the school was I was attending. I didn't know that they were bad until Kristin walked me through why they were bad. She helped me break the habits, and since then I've been doing much better. I haven't tripped up as much as I used to, and I really do attribute it to her. Now I just need to practice more. She's very patient, always with a smile on her face, and made me feel very comfortable, whether it was at her home or mine. She has also been very flexible with my schedule.

I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone!"
