I teach beginning saxophone students basic note reading. Advanced students can learn theory and improvisation.

About John
I have been teaching young people and adults how to play musical instruments for over 20 years. A lot of my students are well on their way to a rewarding future with music, some as professionals and others as hobbyists. In addition to being a teacher, I am also a professional performer who has worked in a wide variety of styles and I have a Masters degree in music composition and theory.

One of my main specialties is working with very young students and total beginners. There is a special skill to teaching young children that can only be developed through experience. For the older student, or the student who already has a musical background my specialty is helping you learn the styles that have always been of most interest to you. I can also help older students gain a broad understanding of music through some basic music theory.

**
* Lesson Details ***
I can teach piano or keyboard to beginners and up to advanced students. On guitar and woodwinds I can teach beginners and up to intermediate level students.
My teaching style is fairly relaxed and very positive, but I will try to keep the lessons on a course that is going to benefit you the most. For younger piano students and beginners I prefer the Alfreds piano system. The songs in the Alfreds books allow for immediate playing and note reading without any tedious memorization. The beginner books contain a lot of fun songs that kids really gravitate toward.

For older students I try to gear the lessons toward whatever musical style you prefer. For students who have only had traditional piano lessons I can teach you how to read pop and jazz chord charts, as well as how to turn those chord charts into fully arranged music. I can also teach improvisation and the skills that are required to play specific styles of music in a professional band.

For my younger guitar students I have a variety of beginner material I have collected over the years, but for my older students I prefer to work on songs of their choice.
My beginner woodwind students will work with a Yamaha method book, while older students can learn improvisation and theory if they like.

I also can lead Orff styled tuned percussion ensembles. The Orff style of music performance allows for students from entirely mis-matched musical backgrounds to play music together, even on their first day of class.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Many keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, saxophone, flute, and four Orff tuned percussion instruments. I also have a comfortable seating area for parents, guests or observers.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide multiple keyboards, a guitar, saxophone, flute and 4 Orff style tuned percussion instruments, as well as countless books and literature.

*** Specialties ***
I play keyboards professionally in jazz, RnB, rock, reggae, Latin rock and other styles. I can help the student who has only had traditional lessons branch out and learn how to read chord charts, which in turn teaches them theory.
I am a certified Orff teacher as well.

John is a great teacher! This was my son's first piano lesson last night. He enjoyed it and also learned quite a bit during the half-hour session. My other son has been taking guitar lessons from John for over two years, and he has been a pleasure to work with during this time. We highly recommend him for lessons of various instruments!

Experienced, classically trained saxophone teacher available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they need to learn to excel but also have fun while doing it. Texts vary depending on level, genre, and what you're interested in achieving. About Kevin
School is important, but MUSIC is importanter. Learning to practice and love it is one of the most useful skills anybody can ask for in any field. I wholeheartedly believe that anyone that puts in honest practice and exploration will find a way around an instrument. For the last 20 years I have been teaching privately, in the public, private and charter schools, and have been writing and playing professionally. Some of my best students have pursued music as a career and some are engineers or housewives or something else, but playing music is something they all hold close to their hearts.

I had the pleasure of being Mr. Muncy's student during my high school years. I started as a beginner in my sophomore year having never taken a music lesson. I took this course simply to fulfill an arts requirement, but his infectious passion for music and teaching inspired in me a deeper interest in the subject. His patience, unique teaching style, and ability to communicate complicated musical concepts equipped me with the capability to pursue music more seriously. After graduating from his music program, I joined the symphony band at my university, held various steady professional gigs and formed my own groups for performing at charity events. Three years of lessons with Mr. Muncy, and some dedication on my end, allowed me to surpass my own expectations in music. I continue to play while pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant and feel privileged to have Mr. Muncy as a mentor. His lessons not only allowed me to pursue my passion for music, but have taught me life skills that have also molded me as a clinician. If you are looking to take music lessons, I highly recommend Mr. Kevin Muncy.

Kevin was an excellent teacher when I had him many moons ago - I can only imagine that he has improved since then. I was a beginner, learning the bass. That isn't Kevin's primary instrument, but he was knowledgeable enough to help me lay much of the foundation for the all that I know in bass playing today. He helped inform my music history knowledge, appreciation and pointed me to some great artists, books (esp. Free Play), and people to learn from. Perhaps more importantly, he really helped stimulate my growth and development within music and within life itself. I credit a good part of who I am and my success today to the tutelage and teaching of Kevin.

I want lessons to be fun but also challenging and disciplined. I am very adamant about starting with a set of warm up exercises every day followed by scale work. But I also want the student to play what they want to play, so I will either ask them to find a piece to be approved by me or I will find a piece for them based on what they like and are looking for. Every student is different so I will treat them as such! I teach Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bari saxophones.

About Joseph
Hi there! I just recently finished my Masters in Clarinet Performance from the University of Maryland and I would love to teach your student! I teach both clarinet and saxophone and have 5 years of teaching experience. I have worked for the Richardson School of Music, FAME, and the SHARP program at William Wirt Middle School in Maryland as well as Cedar Shoals, East Jackson, Decatur, and other high schools in Georgia. I am also an avid learner and I believe that no two students should be treated or approached in the same way. I have been very fortunate to have so many great teachers in my life and I do my best to use everything they have taught me to help my students!

I received my Bachelor's of Music in Clarinet Performance from the University of Georgia and my Masters from the University of Maryland. I currently play clarinet and bas
s clarinet in The Florida Orchestra. Please feel free to visit my website at www.josephbeverly.com for recordings and more information about me!

Arthur W. is one of my best friends in the saxophone and jazz community. He is a joy to work with and inspiring to listen to. His compositions have modern flare while paying homage to the traditional big band sound. I've hired Arthur to work with my students, and it was a remarkable experience for them. In addition to being a remarkable saxophonist, composer, and educator, Arthur is just a wonderful person who's positive personality is contagious. Book lessons with Arthur today. I believe in getting students playing music they love as soon as possible. I have 9 years of teaching experience, as well as a masters degree in music education from Northwestern University. In that time I have learned how to teach important technique and ear training through playing fun and engaging pieces of music in a variety of styles, from classical to jazz, funk, RnB, ska, and more. Music is a fun, practical subject, and it should be taught that way.

About Laurie
I have 9 years of teaching experience as a private teacher, a classroom music teacher, and a band director. I employ many different styles and methods while teaching, to ensure my students receive a well rounded music education, but also have fun. I love to use backing tracks, and I like to teach technique and important fundamentals through playing pieces of music in the styles my students love, while also introducing them to new styles and new pieces. I love music and what it does for the world, and I pass that love and passion on to my students. I am positive and encouraging, while still providing specific and structured feedback to students. I studied classical clarinet during my Bachelors of Music Education at the University of Illinois, taught as a high school band director, and went on to received a Master's in Music Education with
a jazz emphasis while playing jazz saxophone at Northwestern University. I have spent the last 4 years teaching at a British International School in China, and performing in orchestras, funk bands, and more around Beijing. This has given me the experience and knowledge base to teach students of all ages and backgrounds, as well as to teach many different instruments across a wide range of styles, including: clarinet, flute, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, beginning piano, and rock bands.

Miss Bonner is a very patient and fun teacher, whose methods have boosted me from a beginner to playing college standard pieces by Mozart. She is great at playing clarinet. Classical, Jazzy; any genre you choose and Miss Bonner can teach you well. At the end of the school year, I won an award for being the best member in our school band. I've been studying saxophone with Jeff for a little over a year and a half now. In that time I've grown greatly as a saxophone player, musician, and improviser. Jeff does a great job of breaking things down to an understandable level while still keeping sight of the big picture - saying something important during a solo, and saying it in a way that keeps the audience interested. Lesson materials are always challenging enough to stay busy while never being too overwhelming. Jeff is a talented musician and teacher who knows what makes jazz, jazz. Anyone who is willing to put the work in and dedicate themselves will experience a lot of growth and learning with him.

I have been teaching professionally for 5 years. I have been playing music for 18 years and have received a Bachelors Degree in Saxophone Performance from Baylor University. I play both classical and jazz, as well as church music, rock, blues, etc... I have experience with a variety of other instruments as well. I've gotten to perform with the Waco Symphony, and to be able to sing at mass in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. I strive to build proper fundamentals for students in the beginning so that they have a strong foundation as they start more advanced work.

About Andrew
I am a professional saxophonist, clarinetist, guitarist, bassist, and vocalist. I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelors of Music in Saxophone Performance. I've been teaching Saxophone for 5 years. I've also been the Director of Music for Youth Ministries at my church for 5 years. I've had the chance to perform with the Waco Symphony as well as singing in Mass at St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. I've gotten to be flown out to California for gigs as well.

I play classical, jazz, rock, blues, country, and praise & worship music. I have experience teaching many different styles and instruments, as well as students with special needs.

I have been playing for 18 years. I believe that building solid fundamentals will pay off dividends when you continue to advance in your musical experience. I try to start my students with a cla
ssical focus, learning to read music, as it is much easier to start there and build and learn other styles, than to come back and try to learn to read music.

I enjoy working with students on what they're passionate about. I find teaching improvisation is greatly inspiring to me. I also enjoy recording and editing music and audio to share with others.
