Viola with Zachary G.

I have a B.Mus in Performance, for viola through Northern Illinois University where I studied with Anthony DeVroye. Prior to attending NIU, I was a student at the Chicago College of Performing Arts where I studied with Lawrence Neuman and Roger Chase. In addition, I also studied with Stacia Spencer at the Northwestern Music Academy at Northwestern University, in Illinois. During my time at NIU, I served as vice principal viola of the LaSalle Symphony Orchestra where we have had the honor of performing with great artists such as Rachel Barton-Pine and Mathias Tacke. All throughout my schooling, I've been in steady contact with many members of the Chicago Symphony and many guest artists such as the illustrious Jane Glover. After college, I immediately went into working for a local repair shop and took repair classes with Hans Jurgen Nebel, of the former Rembrandt-Wurlitzer Company in New York, where Hans was a protege of Simon Sacconi. Along with the lessons from Hans Jurgen, I received amazing instructions and guidance of Yuri Saenz, and I achieved a skillful level of luthiery and repair for stringed instruments and bows.
