    About Wade M.

Hi! I'm Wade, a musician and educator with a passion for inspiring students. Music, chess, and English are my favorite things, and I've been professionally involved with music since 2004. Since earning my BM and MM degrees in piano performance, I've had the pleasure of teaching diverse students, from adult piano teachers and pre-professionals to beginners of all ages. I've helped my students perform in recitals, win auditions at the National Piano Guild, participate in the Interlochen summer festival, and more. Beyond music, I have experience as a chess coach. I proudly worked as a scholastic chess coach with Magnus Chess Academy and have provided private chess lessons, helping beginner and intermediate students unlock their potential on the chessboard. I also have a 120-hour certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from International TEFL Teacher Training. I've enjoyed using this training to help non-native English speakers improve their language skills. Like chess, language learning is one of the fields outside of music that I really love. I've had the honor of performing across the country, appearing as a soloist and collaborator on the piano and pipe organ, including recitals with faculty members from esteemed institutions such as the Peabody and Oberlin Conservatories. Although my focus has been on classical music at the piano and pipe organ, I've also explored musical theater, blues, jazz, tango, and a variety of other genres. As an educator, my mission is to improve true understanding and equip students with effective strategies and techniques that enable them not only to achieve their current goals but also to pursue their evolving interests confidently. I emphasize a solid understanding of fundamentals, and outside-the-box thinking. Whether you're embarking on your musical journey, seeking to refine your chess skills, or aiming to enhance your English proficiency, I'm here to support your success. Let's tailor your lessons to meet your unique goals!
