Learn the Trumpet from a Musician with 19 Years of Playing Experience!

Experienced Trumpet player (19 years) AND Music Teacher (8 years) available for eager students of all experience levels! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of technical ability and excellent musicianship. I specialize in concert band and orchestral styles of music, however I can teach jazz styles as well. For beginning students I typically use Measures of Success Book #1. For intermediate students I recommend Standard of Excellence book #2 and book #3.

Hello and welcome to my TakeLessons profile! My name is Vivian and I have been teaching private lessons on various instruments since 2013. I have also been teaching professionally in public schools since 2015. I play and teach several instruments including Ukulele, French Horn, Trumpet, Clarinet, Trombone, Flute and I also love to sing! In 2015 I graduated with honors from East Carolina University, earning my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. My students can expect to see improvement week to week in their playing technique. Every musician learns at their own pace, and I will treat you as the individual that you are. I can help any beginner no matter what sort of musical experience they bring to the table! There is no greater joy for me than seeing a student smile and shine when they master a new note, song, or technique. It is those precious lightbulb moments that made me fall in love with teaching! --- Some "Fun Facts" about me: *I LOVE to play video games!!! (Xbox1, Mobile, and PC) *I'm a bookworm and I am always reading something new *I have 3 dogs, their names are Ollie, Lily, and Rocko *I listen to ALL kinds of music! Yes I really do mean ALL!!! I listen to Pop, R&B, Jazz, Rock, Reggaeton, Rap, Classical, Country, Oldies, Bluegrass, Alternative, Funk, Techno....the list goes on forever!
