I am a patient, thoughtful drum set teacher who has worked with students of all ages. I work on tailoring each lessons to a particular students needs and goals.  I also work to develop a good fundamental base of applicable theory and drumming technique with each student. I am open to teaching many different styles of drumming such as:
Rock
Funk 
Jazz
Blues 
Additionally  I can teach specific African, Cuban, and Brazilian rhythmic concepts as well as free improvisation.

I have studied with jazz legend Eddie Marshall as well as  classical percussion with William Winant.  I also have a good general knowledge of music theory which is very helpful when trying to figure out songs or compositions.  I have studied composition and improvisation with many incredible musicians such as Roscoe Mitchell, Ben Goldberg, and Hafez Modirzadeh. I additionally have a BA in jazz performance from S.F. State and a MFA from Mills College in music performance.

I am a professional drummer who has been playing and teaching for over twenty years. I recently moved to Brooklyn from California and am looking for some new students. I have taught all ages, from 4 year old kids to adults, and am open to any styles of music or interests.  I have additionally taught workshops/classes in schools such as SF State, The California Jazz Conservatory, and various elementary schools throughout California.  I have a MFA in music performance from Mills College and a BA in music performance from S.F. State.
