As a performer, music teacher and private lesson instructor I have worked with musicians with zero to lifetime experience and I have found that the most exceptional musicians are well rounded. This is achieved by developing students' abilities to listen to and understand their role in music, ear training, music theory, and sight reading. I believe that the private lesson is not just a time where students work on finger exercises and technique, it is also a time where we learn about history, culture, style and have a lot of fun! We get to challenge ourselves and make mistakes so that we can grow into the best musicians that we can possibly be. I have received a Bachelors in Music Education from University of North Texas and a Masters in Music Performance in Trumpet from Colorado State University.
