Hi! My name is Tim and I am a professional guitarist based out of the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago. I have an undergraduate degree in guitar performance, and a Master's Degree from The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in Jazz Guitar Performance. BUT - I do not only teach jazz! I love all styles of music and started out playing bluegrass and fingerstyle guitar, which I still deeply enjoy. In our lessons, we will work towards your own personal goals, while I keep an eye on your technique. I make sure you learn things the right way ~the first time~ so you don't have to re-learn things you feel like you already know. This is one of the hazards of learning the guitar from the internet that a great teacher (like me!) will help you with. I want to save you time, frustration, and hard work! Let's do it right the first time! Professionally, I work very often around town. I play places in Chicago like the California Clipper, the Green Mill, the Whistler, Cafe Mustache and the Green Mill. I work mostly in Jazz contexts but also do whatever I get called to do! I want to help you meet your performance goals (because I have met mine), or get you started from the beginning. LASTLY - while I love jazz, I also love pop music and can teach any and all styles. No matter what you'd like to play, good technique and learning it the right way the first time is essential!
