    About Portia N

Greetings! My name is Portia and I am a tuba player, composer, and music educator. I have been privately teaching music/low brass for nearly 20 years and I currently teach at the University of California, Davis and the Los Rios Community College District. I graduated from UC Davis with a B.A. in Music Composition and Theory and earned a double Master's in Music in Composition and Tuba Performance from California State University Sacramento. I would love to help you reach your musical goals, whether it's an audition, solo performance, ensemble music, musicianship skills, etc. In my lessons, you will work hard, gain confidence, and laugh. Music is fun and I want you to feel comfortable when you work with me. I have experience teaching students at the beginner level to students who are in retirement and are relearning their instrument and everything in between. Come say hi and ask a question!
