    About Stevie B.

With three #1 records and four top ten records in the UK. Three top forty albums in the U.S. and 20 million records sold worldwide written and produced for multi platinum recording artists including Jordan Knight (NKOTB), O Town, No Mercy, top UK artists Shola Ama, (best new artist) A1 and many more, STEVIE B. continues to make his mark in the record business. To write and produce hit records, Stevie takes from his experience as a songwriter being mentored by legendary producer/songwriter Thom Bell, one of the founding fathers of “Gamble, Huff & Bell” the iconic Philadelphia sound. As a writer/producer signed to Warner Chappell Music. As a recording artist with RCA records. As a live performer fronting his top drawing original R&B band in the L.A. music scene and from his company, Artist Vocal Development where he develops vocalists, preparing them to make records and tour such as the Velvet Angels signed to "Island Def Jam" after Vocal Development with Stevie. Having the rare ability as a songwriter to write for any kind of music successfully, from Pop to Rock, R&B, Urban and Country and as a Vocal Producer in the studio or in live performance, Stevie has the gift to take the Artist / Vocalist to the level they need to be on, regardless of the style of music. TEACHING CONCEPT AND APPROACH: A great voice and a great singer are two completely different things. Developing a vocalist to become both is my goal with every singer I work with. This is achieved by: 1. Specific vocal exercises. 2. Recording vocals in the studio focusing on the fundamentals that produce a great vocal. 3. Live development on stage for vocal and visual performance. A great singer is defined by how well you sing live. Not studio recordings where you can take as long as you need to get your vocal right and use technology to make your vocal sound better. OVERVIEW: What I have learned from working with so many vocalists over the years, from private sessions with singers of all ages, to developing an artist on stage preparing them for live shows, and from being in the recording studio getting the best performance out of an artist to make the best record possible, there is a thread that runs through all of this... Every singer wants to work with someone who has experienced and is still experiencing where they want to go and what they want to be. This is what I bring to the development and mentoring of any vocalist, just starting out or on a Professional level. *** Lesson Details *** Regardless of your Age, Vocal ability, and your goals which could be to make records and tour or just wanting to feel comfortable singing in front of people with no fear, one thing never changes. "WE GOTTA HAVE FUN GETTING THERE!" Instead of getting you in your head being to technical, we focus on the basic things that will get you to sing a song the best you can. For your first lesson, we will discuss what your goals are as a singer and performer and how I will get you there. Then I will hear you sing a song you love so I can get an idea of where you are vocally. Next we will pick a song that we will be working on together. For your second lesson, we will do specific Vocal Exercises to "bridge" the break between your Chest Voice and Head Voice. You will get a cd with these exercises that you will practice to at home for your vocal warm ups. For your third lesson and on, we will work on the song we have picked (in the style and direction you want to go in), working on the fundamentals that will enable you to really deliver the song and sell it! No matter what style of Music you sing the Fundamentals never change: Breathing / Pitch / Timing / Connecting with the words (Vibe) Once you are singing the song well, over the next several lessons you will record the song in my studio with me producing your vocals and directing you. When you have completed the song you will get a record quality cd!! Then we pick a new song and repeat the process. This process will strengthen your vocal chords, build vocal endurance, build vocal stamina, expand your higher and lower range, clean up sloppy singing and most of all enable you to sing and deliver your song in a way that the audience will feel you and believe you! I also offer and highly recommend live performance lessons at a rehearsal studio near my home studio. You will be on a stage singing through a full P. A. system. If interested I will give you all the specifics. Being able to sing live is what all of this is about! Song by song you will get better and better until you reach the level where great things can happen!! Your "Work Ethic" will determine how fast your progress is. Rehearsing consistently is key! You will see immediate results!!! *** Studio Equipment *** Apple Mac Pro / Apple 21 inch Monitor / Digital Performer / Wave Plug Ins / Motu 828 / Neumann TLM103 Microphone / Universal Audio LA 610 Mic Pre & Compressor / Powerplay Headphone Monitor System / AKG Studio Headphones / Event 20/20 Biamplified Studio Monitors / Alesis 12 Channel Mixing Board / Roland Super JV Synthesizer Module / Fatar Studio Logic Keyboard Controller / S.E.
