A multi-faceted pianist, Spencer Woods has performed in the Southern Kentucky and Nashville region since the age of 14. He has collaborated and preformed with touring rock bands such as Dan Luke and The Raid and Brad the Dad. Spencer has also toured with the Western Kentucky University (WKU) Wind Ensemble and premiered music for the professor of composition at WKU Mathew Herman. He is adept in performing works by a diverse array of composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Prokofieff, and Robert Muczynski.
In the summer of 2017, Spencer preformed in the Jazzit festival in Feltre, Italy. He has also performed in Florence, Italy, at the Accademia Europea Di Firenze and had master classes with Roberto Fabriciani and William Lenihan. It was in Italy that Spencer grew his love for jazz music, and upon returning to the United States he has started multiple jazz projects at recording studios such as Thunder Sound and Erskine Sound.
As a child, Spencer had lived in France and England before settling in the United States and had been taught privately by the award-winning pianist Douglas Gould and Karibay Narveaz from the Conservatory of Montreuil. From these experiences, Spencer loves many different types of cultures and seeks to express them through the different genres of music that he studies and plays.
Spencer has a bachelor of arts in piano performance and is currently getting his masters in pedagogy at WKU under Dr. Zachary Lopes.
