Hi! My name is Sophia Santulli and I am a singer, songwriter, producer, and educator based in Oakland, California. I earned my Master of Music in Vocal Performance at San Francisco Conservatory and I have over twelve years of experience teaching the dynamic art of singing to beginning, intermediate, and advanced students all over the Bay Area. I have helped many young students gain acceptance to schools such as Oakland School of the Arts and San Francisco School of the Arts, the vocal departments at UC Santa Barbara and UC Santa Cruz, and CIIS; I am adept at teaching adult voices as well and have helped students prepare material for large concerts and tours, win roles with local musical theater companies as well as record studio singles and full albums, sing in chorus groups, or simply just "finally learn to sing". Technique and tone, musicality and musicianship, posture and performance, it's all part of having more fun and ability as a singer. *** Lesson Details *** Vocal exercises are foundational to improve technique, and I employ many tried-and-true exercises (vocalizes) to build each student's technique at their own pace. We will discuss your goals in order achieve the improvement you’re looking for with singing. I also provide education and support for music theory learning, ear-training, creating recordings, preparing auditions, roles, concerts and recitals, and more! Song work, including a song of your choice, is included in each lesson along with the technique-building singing exercises. Working on preparing a song helps solidify new vocal habits as well as gives an opportunity to work on musicality, phrasing, style, and performance.
