Classical Piano with Skylar T.

I am a professional classically trained pianist with a Bachelors degree in music from California State University of Sacramento. I have studied classical piano for 20 years and have been teaching for 10 years. I am also involved with other musical projects, such as playing in rock bands across California or doing session work. I am currently endorsed by Kurzweil Music Systems and Dave Smith Instruments. I teach piano students of all levels from age 5 and up. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence (that would include technique/exercises), to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on student preference. Some of the musical styles I regularly teach include: Classical, Pop, Rock, Hard Rock, Alternative, and Blues. Though playing popular music is fun, I find that learning technique is essential to improve the ability of playing and also learning music theory gives a well rounded experience to all students playing music.
