Hello there! My name is Xuran,and I'm an NYC-based pianist with over 15 years of experience teaching piano. I Began piano study at very young age and entered the Shanghai Conservatory on full scholarship. During the time of study in Shanghai,I was awarded the First Prize of Shanghai Young Artists Festival. I got my bachelor's degree in Piano Performance of Shanghai Conservatory and completed my master's degree in music education at New York University, and piano performance in Manhattan School of Music. I perform regularly at venues such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center.

Hello there! My name is Sissi Xuran, and I'm an NYC-based pianist with over 20 years of experience teaching piano. I earned my BM from Shanghai Conservatory of Music and MM degrees from Manhattan School of Music in Piano Performance also MA degrees from New York University in Music Education and also perform regularly at venues such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center.

My son and daughter have been taking lessons with both Sissi for several years.Sissi is an accomplished musician who give lessons out of her warm and welcoming Upper West Side home. She has a kind and casual approach to her teaching (Sissi also can teaches voice and basic of violin). Sissi is patient and enthusiastic and has allowed my son to develop a beautiful talent on the piano that he may not have done in a more traditional, strict setting. It has really worked for him. She present a lovely recital for her students twice a year and the range of ages and talent is beautiful to see. She has a special talent of meeting each student where they are and lovingly encouraging them to embrace whatever music inspires them. It is awesome.

Sissi is magical. She introduces piano in way that is so playful and accessible. Even the complete beginner like my daughter was able to play a few notes and hear what a piano could truly sound like. So glad we found this class!!
