Hello! I'm Sierra, a Berklee College of Music graduate with over 10 years of experience songwriting. I have a unique approach to teaching songwriting and can’t wait for you to join me. Lessons are for everyone in all genres and experience levels. Whether you’ve never written a song in your life or you’ve written hundreds, I will work to develop a plan that works for you! - We start out with a FREE 30 minute lesson where we get to know each other - After, I will analyze your areas of growth based on my evaluation and your goals to develop a *customized* 8-week plan for you - Potential topics include lyric writing, melody writing, form, harmony, rhyme, music theory, guitar for songwriters, the business of songwriting, and more. Each topic will be catered towards your experience level. - If you are not ready to commit to 8 weeks, you can also opt for a lesson-by-lesson plan that is less structured and best for those who would like to feedback on one or two songs - We hit the ground running and get you writing the songs you’ve always dreamed of!

Hello! I'm Sierra, a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in Songwriting and Music Technology. I live in Los Angeles and work as a songwriter in multiple genres, including pop, R&B, folk, country and alternative. I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and have been writing songs since I was 5 years old. One of my earliest memories is writing my first song about cats, dogs and cows! I believe ANYONE can write a good song. It's important to embrace your unique voice and figure out a process that works best for you. I love getting to know my students and coach them on this journey of discovery. Songwriting is a skill just like coding or woodworking. You must learn the basic structures of words and music in order for your creativity to have solid ground to stand on. If you're struggling with writers block, feel like your inspiration has "dried up" or you can only write when you're in a certain "mood," I have tons of tips and tricks that will get you writing at all hours of the day regardless of how you feel. Other than music, I love reading, hiking, yoga and dogs. I'm obsessed with coffee shops, I can't stop traveling to new places and I'm always on the search for my next binge-worthy TV show. I had 10 coaching sessions with Sierra and it was a very positive experience. I recommend her highly. She is a talented musician and quite knowledgeable about songwriting. Sierra is a well-rounded artist and an excellent teacher. Her compositions demonstrate a depth (both musically and lyrically) that I consider a rarity and a treasure.
