Oboe with Shawn H.

I am a working professional oboist with a passion for connecting students with the resources they need for musical success! I earned degrees in oboe performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the Yale School of Music. While pursuing my master's degree, I was a teaching artist in the Yale Music in Schools Initiative, which connects graduate teaching artists with students throughout the New Haven Public School District. Additionally, I held a Yale graduate teaching assistantship in Hearing & Analysis. I then held an oboe fellowship with The Orchestra Now, performing in venues including Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as appearing on the original soundtrack for the Leonard Bernstein biopic "Maestro". Currently, I play principal oboe with the Glens Falls Symphony, second oboe & English horn with the Binghamton Philharmonic, and regularly appear with other ensembles including the Albany Symphony and the West Point Band.
