Music Theory with Seth H.

I am a classically trained musician and music teacher from central Iowa. I have been studying and playing music my entire life. My main instrument is trumpet, but in recent years my passion for music has driven me to learn many instruments such as piano, accordion, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, and others. Over the years I have developed a deep love for music theory. I have written and performed several of my own original compositions, as well as large analysis projects of composers such as Beethoven, Schubert, and Debussy. My music theory lessons are focused on the student. I will work with you to make sure that you are getting the knowledge and developing the skills that you need to accomplish your goals. This keeps me on my toes as a teacher, and allows my students to take advantage of a flexible and understanding instructor. I can teach anyone from very beginners to college music majors who need help with their homework. I can teach you how to read your first notes, analyze Beethoven, create a twelve tone matrix, compose like Debussy and more. I graduated from Drake University and have taught band, orchestra, and music appreciation in Des Moines Public Schools. I live in the central Des Moines.
