Worked for 3 years in PPS Head Start classrooms. This gave me experience working with kids from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different learning styles. I got experience working with children with special needs, as well as ESL and ADHD/Behavioral challenges.

I help kids discover their love of music through a hybrid of guitar, songwriting, singing and recording. Lessons are song-based: they learn to play and sing, but also to notice the patterns in music and find out what makes it tick.

We also work together to record covers of their favorite songs… Which introduces them to process of recording, applies the guitar and singing skills in a hands-on way, and builds overall excitement about music and their instrument. Learning across a variety of mediums prevents kids from getting bored and giving up, and my weekly practice charts make it easy for them to track their progress.

I have experience working with kids at a variety of different levels, including kids with autism and other developmental disabilities. I worked for 3 years in a Head Start classroom, which required me to work with a wide array of students and find the approach that worked best for each child.

I feel confident that I can help your child discover the “spark” that will make them want to create and keep creating! My teaching methods are designed to get kids “hooked” on music, so that they can act as their own teacher in between lessons.

Sean is an old roommate of mine who showed me how to record. We would work together on projects (first on 4-track, then Logic) and he showed me how recording can be an artform. He was great at giving me the motivation and skills I needed to start recording on my home. I learned to think of the recording equipment as another instrument, to be okay making mistakes and to find the fun in recording.
