Are you just starting piano and want to learn how to read and play? Or have you been figuring out songs on your own and want help with technique? With training in music theory I can help you learn to read music and figure out songs on your own. And if you want help with technique I also can teach you practical piano techniques without the necessity of learning classical pieces (though that is certainly welcome!) Let's get started!

About Sarah M.

I'm currently attending Berklee College Of Music, with my principal instrument in voice but I also play piano, guitar, ukulele, and saxophone! I'm currently majoring in Music Therapy but have also had a love and a passion for teaching and learning. I have been studying voice for 10 years and piano for 6, I have a base in classical training for voice but have expanded more recently towards contemporary styles of singing.

I currently perform in 3 bands locally and have a passion for live music. I believe that music can be one of the most amazing forms of expression that a person can have and love to have been a part of someone else's musical journey! I love to teach music theory as a way to open up the possibilities of self expression through playing and/or singing!

Students of voice can expect to go through a warm up routine at the beginning of a lesson before going into full musical pieces, these can include any genre and can be songs that you choose and bring in or songs that I can provide from my library.

Students of piano can expect a more technique based approach going more by some piano technique books which will then expand into figuring out and playing songs that you hear on the radio!

I firmly believe that music is a wonderful gift and I hope that I get to be a part of your unique musical journey and help you become the best musician you can possibly be!
