Music Theory is for Every Musician

Learning the fundamentals of music theory is important for every musician. However, those students who seek to do more - including taking the Music Theory AP exam, major in music in college, or compose their own music - need specialized instruction. I'm here to help, bringing along my years of experience teaching these ideas from the littlest Suzuki students through college music majors.

I am a professional musician and music educator currently working in higher education. However, my career experience has prepared me to teach to each student - no matter if they are a beginner or highly advanced. I have an undergraduate degree in Oboe Performance and a Master's Degree in Music and Women's and Gender Studies. In my spare time I love learning, teaching, and writing about the long history of women in music.
